One of the many things I find weird is that some people fly the confederate battle flag on their property. Each time I see one I think "We are in Kansas, why, in a state where the Free Staters won, do you want to identify with the losing side?" I don't say anything because most people here have guns

As library worker it is non of my business what a young patron is borrowing. If they have a library card it means a responsible adult signed them up and no doubt trusts them to use the library. My role is to assist them in finding materials, and, if required, assist them with the checkout process.

Just thinking more deeply about this premise and it is never the villains trying to defund, arrest library workers and censor libraries. It is always the people that claim to be defenders, protectors and those working for a claimed higher purpose
