Hi, I’m Annette Reilly, and I’m running for Vancouver City Council. I’m a filmmaker, a working parent, and someone who believes public service still matters. Follow me to find out more about who I am, why I’m running, and why I believe Vancouver deserves better. Let’s get to work.

🧵 Tomorrow, @ptfry.bsky.social has 4 motions going before City Council. With ABC limiting motions for the rest of the summer, it's crucial to lend your voice! You can sign up here BEFORE 5 PM TODAY to speak in support of motions 12, 13, 14, and 15! vancouver.ca/your-governm...

With discussion from 600+ public speakers starting yesterday, one theme keeps coming up: we don't have enough information to vote on this budget. ABC needs to go back to the drawing board before anyone votes. Keep raising your voices, Vancouver! vancouver.citynews.ca/2025/11/12/v... #VanPoli
With a lack of straight answers & details in yesterday's budget presentations, how can councillors vote on this? ABC wants to hand-wave the details & fill in the blanks as they go. Ken Sim says he's not "a numbers guy," but this isn't how budgeting works. vancouversun.com/news/local-n... #VanPoli
I hope the ABC councillors will listen to the workers whose job it is to care for the infrastructure and services that make our city livable. #solidarity #vanpoli #strongertogether

I am filled with hope with the number of people speaking towards this ABC budget. Being on a film set is not conducive to participating in City Council meetings beyond sending in an email. Thank you all for using your voices.❤️
One thing to watch for on Day 1 of Vancouver Budget-palooza, which begins in five minutes: this staff proposal to raise fees for having events outside the Vancouver Art Gallery by 2400%. Additional big increases for Robson Square and the plaza on Davie Street. We'll see if it gets clawed back.
Incredibly short-sighted and irresponsible, and completely disconnected from the real values & priorities of Vancouverites. This move would be awful not only for Vancouver, but also for all the cities that Vancouver’s leadership has inspired over decades of North American sustainability leadership.
NEW: Councillors and sources inside the City of Vancouver say the city's mayor, Ken Sim, will put forth a budget Wednesday that will eliminate the city's celebrated climate and sustainability department.
Buses are coming to Stanley Park in 2027 — great news! But having bikes & buses sharing one lane isn’t safe. Support Commissioner @tomdigby1.bsky.social’s amendment for a permanent, separated bike lane & add your name today in the link: win.newmode.net/greenpartyof... #VanPoli #BikeVancouver
The movement is growing! Stand in solidarity with the BCGEU as they fight for FAIR WAGES. The outcome of this negotiation will impact all BC workers. We must stand together if we want wages that we can live off of! @bcgeu.bsky.social #BCGEU #UnionStrong #FairWages
We would like to thank our wonderful volunteers, elected, board members, and, of course, the folks that visited us at Car Free Day on Commercial Dr. Despite some sudden rain, it didn't dampen anyone's spirits. See you Sunday on Main Street! #VanPoli #CarFreeDay2025
The Van Park Board has made a misguided decision to bring a trademarked Harry Potter experience to Stanley Park this winter. As a Queer woman and a strong Trans ally, this is unacceptable. JKR pours her fortune into actively harming Trans Folks. #TransRights #ProtectTransKids #FuckJKRowling
Pizza Garden on The Drive caught fire about 30 mins ago. Vancouver Fire Fighters were on the scene in a jiffy and seem to have it all under control. The fumes outside were toxic. This is what @vanfirerescue.bsky.social subject themselves to for our safety. Thank you all for your service!
Happy Labour Day! Our country would not be what it is without the labour movement. Our voices are louder together. I am a proud member of UBCP/ACTRA, a permittee with IATSE 891, and I’m only 19 days away from being a DGC member. Yay! #labourday #unionstrong
So as long as the majority break the rules, everyone gets away with it. And the taxpayer will foot the bill without even knowing it. Nate Lewis’ article in the Vancity Lookout sums it up pretty nicely: #vanpoli #cityofVancouver
Those who have the power to stop mass shootings can go to hell with their "thoughts and prayers." Do something about it, you evil bastards.
The public needs to hold this mayor and these councillors to account. This is beyond not ok. Also, who will pay the bills for all the lawyers involved? Often these types of costs get passed to the taxpayers. We must stay vigilant! #vanpoli #vancouver #integrity
Mayor Sim & ABC councillors broke their Oath of Office. The Integrity Commissioner ruled they ran City business in secret, violating the Vancouver Charter. Rules for thee, not for me. @ptfry.bsky.social is not shy about leading this charge for transparency: vancouversun.com/news/vancouv...
"One stranger attack is too many. Obviously, we want to ensure public safety is paramount for everyone who visits, lives and works in Vancouver, but we don’t need unnecessary fear-mongering to drive political agendas, and ultimately scare people away from our city." www.ctvnews.ca/vancouver/ar...

Plastic talks have broken down more than the plastics themselves ever will. I have a suggestion. Make the companies who use plastic in their packaging pay for the recycling infrastructure instead of passing that cost onto the consumer. I bet that will convince them to find alternate solutions.
