Purring my way through life outside MU Library. Unofficial account, kinda.

One group of people who you might not always see on campus are our fantastic estates people - gardeners, trades people but also cleaners. They do the hard and often hidden work - including clearing up a broken vodka bottle near my hut today. (not my bottle, I'm a whiskey cat). thanks!

Ok, so - halfway through the orientation week. Some stats: # of photos: 1,243 # of times I have been rubbed or tickled: 2,478.5 (the .5 is when someone went to, then got nervous - don't be nervous!) # of names given me: Seamus: 42% Paddy: 26% Library Cat: 31% "Sir Paw McMiaowington the third:" 1%

'Zounds! tis hot. Or as the bard once said "As a fair day in summer, wondrous fair." That's from Pericles - which you can find at 828.3 SHA PER, on thine thirdest floor(est) of yon house of knowledge

Lots of young(er) folk on campus today for Open Day. hello to all - but especially the good people of Oaklands, Edenderry and Navan in Meath. Nice to see the parents too. Dads - nice sneakers, you ARE down with the kids!

In 1819 the poet Keats composed a poem called "to Autumn". It's a lovely poem and you can read it in the library. However as someone who basically lives outdoors, can I point out that the line "Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun" just doesn't seem acccurate..
