politician in recovery host of the Attitude with Arnie Arnesen carried on the Pacifica Network

Gloria Steinem has passed away. Long ago, my parents used to force me to go to church each Sunday. One time the pastor made a comment about "people who were destroying America, like Carl Sagan and Gloria Steinem." I liked Carl Sagan. Gloria Steinem was new to me. I took it as a recommendation.

My original trade paperback of Gloria Steinem's "Outrageous Acts and Everyday Rebellions" (1st edition, 1983).

I have a question for every mother in Texas-Who would you rather have as a son-in-law:Talerico or Paxton? If you can't imagine Paxton being welcome as a member of your family how can you vote to make him a member of the US Senate, a branch of our governing family. All elections are personal & local.

A STORY OF ARNIE GLORIA HILLARY AND BERNIE...A MUST READ— One of Arnie Arnesen's cherished possessions is a photo of feminist icon Gloria Steinem standing on a chair and speaking on her behalf at a fundraiser back when Arnesen was New Hampshire's Democratic nominee for governor. It was 1992 —

Why Clinton’s feminist pitch is not working in New Hampshire

In the Granite State, many women reject an overtly gender-based appeal for their primary votes.

Someone finally wrote a bad review of my book! Its argument: The tech bros are not fascists and we need not worry about them. Its author: a fellow at the Foundation for American Innovation (FAI). FAI's ideological godfather and treasured idol: Peter Thiel. 🫠

dedicated to Wendell Berry RIP An autumn leaf never dies! It just changes its form, After a bright life on a tree, It falls to the ground, Then, it goes back to the earth, But it emerges again, In a new body, In another beautiful form, In a fascinating colour, To live a new life.-Thich Nhat Hanh

The media keeps asking Abdul how his religion/Muslim will influence his politics&his understanding of democracy but they don't ask White Evangelical Christians like Speaker Johnson how his faith and his understanding of democracy influences him We should start demanding equal questioning of both!

Google Maps says it changed Lake Ontario to “Lake America” for U.S. users in accordance with its policy to accept “name changes in official government sources.” What if a small Pacific island officially changes the name of a village to “Google Sucks Ass.” Will Google change it on its maps?

How the GNIS Lake Ontario/Lake America name change in the U.S. will appear in Maps

The U.S. Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) has formally changed the name for "Lake Ontario" to "Lake America" in the United States. Since we update Google Maps …

"The U.S. Department of the Treasury has not granted credentials to individual reporters for The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg News to cover the event, which will draw finance ministers and central bank governors from the world’s biggest economies."

Alan Rappeport, an economic policy reporter who reports on the Treasury Department for The Times, has been excluded from the meeting. Since he began covering the department in 2017, he has attended nearly a dozen G7 and G20 meetings in person.

Matt Grossman, an economics reporter for The Wall Street Journal, was also denied a credential. A spokesman for The Journal declined to comment.

Nicole Taylor, a spokeswoman for The Times, said in a statement that the decision was “not just another disturbing effort by the administration to undermine independent journalism, but a blatant attempt to evade public scrutiny.”

US Department of the Treasury is effectively banning certain reporters for The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg News from covering next week's meeting in North Carolina of G20 finance ministers and central bankers. www.nytimes.com/2026/08/29/b...

I thought this was a joke but it is true...the U.S. government announced $500,000 in emergency disaster assistance for people affected by deadly flash floods in Nepal. THE RICHEST NATION ON THE PLANET DID THIS ? A $1/2million-WE ARE BEYOND DISGUSTING. WE ELIMINATE USAID&THEN WE CUT THIS SIZE CHECK.

Imagine if the NH Democratic Party had set out a set of rules for candidates in the primary. No PAC money, no corporate money, a limit of 20% of total amount raised coming from out of state and a limit of 20% of campaign cash to come from the candidate themselves.

Abdul El-Sayed was just asked how his religion influences his politics? First: what a BS question from the Katy Tur of MSNOW. Would she ask Jews or Mormons that? Second: But his answer was brilliant If U R worried about a Jihad the only one will be against the health insurance industry

Someone wrote on my Facebook page that they were marveling at Dolly's success given she was "born into dirt poor" I corrected them she was born into love (we judge everything by money, time to rethink what it is we value)

Remember that time South Koreans rose up and arrested their president because he tried to incite AN INSURRECTION? Be like the South Koreans! 🇰🇷

Dolly Parton was rich very rich but wealth was not her defining feature- she was rich in love, in kindness, in sharing, in accepting folks as they are and her wealth of talent just made her capable of touching so many who would find themselves the beneficiaries of her riches

Why Dolly Parton Never Became a Billionaire

She could have spent her time engaging in space tourism or basking in her fans’ adoration. Instead, she dedicated herself to using her money in a way that could do the most good for the most …
