Here's a T. Rex bored to death trying to bite their own tail. My partner asked me to animate it in stop motion, after she watched a video about the very important topic of "could T. Rex chew its own tail like a dog". The puppet is still a work in progress 🦖
Is it a lizard? Is it a snake? Maybe a 'false snake'?? As that's what its name means in Gaelic! Hello to Breugnathair, a new fossil from the Jurassic of Skye with a curious mix of snake & lizard features, showing that early squamate evolution was complex www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

I was honored to create this illustration to accompany the discovery of Breugnathair elgolensis a newly discovered genus of reptile that shares traits of both lizards and snakes. Congratulations and special thanks to the authors! You can read the paper using the link below doi.org/10.1038/s415...
Paraiso Lodge in Costa Rica’s Talamanca Mountains is famed for its close views of fiery-throated hummingbirds. Often overlooked, the lodge’s elevation offers a stunning view of the Central Valley. While it was tempting to zoom in, the added context made it my favorite shot of the trip.
I’ve spent the past couple weeks recovering from a deviated septum surgery. Every evening, I sat on the front porch watching this Orbweaver tend to its web. I discovered if I shot wide open and lined up the spider with the neighbors garage lights, I could outline it with bokeh.
Briefly returning to social media to announce I met a rock ptarmigan 🥹 That is all for now but I’ll be back with more photos and art soon :)
Sharing a late #portfolioday to check in and say I’m not dead, just very busy with optometry school lately I’ll have new art to share soon, including a spiritual successor to this old piece of mine so stay tuned!

Kleptoparasitism. Geosternternbergia, Nyctosaurus and Enchodus. Inspired by the book Oceans of Kansas by Micheal J Everhart and the brown pelicans, magnificent frigate birds and delicious mahi-mahi tacos at my trip to Puerto Vallarta. #paleoart #pterosaurs
Since today is Pokemon day I thought it would be a good time to share my fakemon project I’ve been working on lately! I have much less time to do art in optometry school so this has been keeping me creative while I focus on my studies :)

I’ve been a bit slow in posting so far in 2025 and so far, it’s all been crossbills! We do have other birds around, but the crossbills are hanging around so … This male White-winged Crossbill was intently searching for his next cone. #Birds #photography #wildlife 🪶
#frontonfeathers Unironically a really good showcase of northern waterthrush’s higher density of streaking on the breast

I’m counting the days until the red winged blackbirds are back #birdwatching #birdphotography #birds #naturephotography
This morning I came across a group of birds eating from a fallen oak branch. I dug a little hole in the snow and waited for them to return. To my surprise a gorgeous male red bellied woodpecker flew in! Here are some shots from the encounter 📸 ❄️ #birdphotography #bird #birdwatching
