I thought the thing a lot of people didn't like about the nebulous woke 1 era, for lack of a better term, was the cynical deployment of identity. But thinking about the depressing trans M4A discourse yesterday, it seems like that's the only thing centrists liked about it. That's the only thing left.

I'm worried that conservatives will remove the environmental protections for the lake I like to swim in by abusing the EPA, so my solution is that we shouldn't have any federal environmental laws. The private market will ensure we never have pollution at my lake. Subscribe to my substack.

One of the reasons many cities are becoming more homogenous and interchangable and boring, especially on the West Coast, is because tech people do not support or see value in the arts. They don't go to the theater or give to local art museums, unlike other rich people.

a lot of what the right does nowadays is create an emotional support system for bigots. bigotry will offend and alienate people in your life, so the right looks provides a counterweight that lavishes you with praise.

If a woman doesn't send a black windowless van to pick you up for your "date" in the secret soundproof room under her house, she isn't worth your time. I don't see why this is controversial.
