An absolute pleasure attending Samantha Shannon’s event with Brighton Waterstones the other day to celebrate the publication of Among the Burning Flowers. Lovely to meet Samantha and have a brief chat. As always, the Brighton Waterstones team hosted a brilliant event.

Some very exciting news… I am honoured to have been asked to interrogate the wonderful Jay Kristoff during his London Waterstones Event on the 14th November. Not only does this mean I get the pleasure of his company, but I also get the pleasure of reading Empire of the Dawn before it is available…

I am very happy to announce that I will be speaking on a panel at the Oxford Literary Festival on Friday 4th April. Excitingly, the panel is called In Tolkien’s Wake: The Future of Epic Fantasy, and I will be chatting with the excellent James Logan, chaired by Grace Khuri.

Four of my favourite reads last year. I'd have rated them all 6 stars if I could. Truly masterpieces of their genres. The Daughters' War is gripping and gritty, with terrifying goblins. The Empire of the Damned is Kristoff at his best - heart-poundingly good.

I popped in to the excellent Brighton Waterstones yesterday and signed a large handful of books. If you’re in the area and are looking for a signed copy, Brighton is the place to go. Truth and Courage 😁🐺
