#WIPSnips Blake's been in an elevator that descended into Hell, but the one that took him to the basement of this library, a place with something far more dangerous. #WriteSky #WritingCommunity

“Blake.” She called out. “There we no suicides on the date mom tried. Do we assume she was one of the last or the first?”
The elevator door closed. Gabriela turned, and from within the darkness of shelves around her an answer came.
“Second to last.” A voice said. Gabriela began to shiver. It had sounded like Blake, but something wasn’t right. Maybe this place was making her paranoid.
“I found our Biology teacher’s obituary. Looks like it was a couple of weeks before our mom.” Blake said. Gabriela’s tight grip on the paper she had found relaxed as the familiar tone that had come back to his voice.
“I’m going to check the one that happened after mom. Find the Mitchell guy.” Gabriela said, as she moved to the more recent shelves.
“One after? That only leaves 4. Who was the first then?” Blake asked. He was flipping through one of the papers when another landed on the floor in front of him. He jumped, and bent over to pick it up. Red eyes backed away into the shadows.

The image behind the text is a border that is dark blue with gold stars with a black background with neon blue border. An illustrated caticorn holding a pencil and writing in a book with a rose behind one ear is in the lower right corner. A different version of the same illustrated caticorn is curled up writing in the lower left corner

#SeptEmboss Above a pub in London, someone has painted the silhouette of a cat sitting atop the windowsill. It’s unclear how someone accomplished this and whether the graffiti was done by the owner of the property, a renter, or a cheeky neighbor.

#Septopolis Nahuatl (Aztec language) names are too complex for most readers to causally recall. The 1st Underworld is called "Itzcuintlán" but there is no city. Noir needs a city. The world "Tzintle" means both Base and Anus. So, Tzin City, where life shits you out! #WriteSky #WritingCommunity

Good morning #Septopolis. If you're using this to build something and haven't picked one yet, take today and ponder it (I did this last year in fact!). Then, tell us about how it got this name. It could be serious and directly from in-world or it could be a silly in-joke amongst your friends.

A daily prompt card for #Septopolis 2026, hosted by @khonri.com.

Foundations, 6. If you haven't named your city yet, now's the time. Now, why was this name selected by you (or its founders)? What is the history behind the toponym?

Interpret each prompt as suits your needs! Talk about relevant characters! Yap! Or don't! Develop a new city or whatever or talk about one you already built. Make friends.

The background features a slightly blurred and purple hued image of the upper section of a set photograph of Main Commercial Street in Fritz Lang's Metropolis (UFA, 1927) of towering buildings.

#SongsOfSeptember Well, it starts with Virgil in Hell, very clearly in power. I could see "Red Right Hand" being the demon's image of him. He is loved and feared. "You're one microscopic cog in his catastrophic plan, Designed and directed by his Red Right Hand." #WriteSky #WritingCommunity

What are your three biggest RED flags?

I audibly click my tongue when I'm thinking. I have auditory processing issues where I'll miss words people say and automatically guess what was said. When we were dating Tempest asked me to butter toast. I heard "guard," as in from her cat. She was very annoyed until she asked WTH I was doing.

Zack Handlen@zhandlen.bsky.social · 3d ago

what is a thing you do that you know you do, and you know it's weird/annoying, but you can't help yourself? for me, it's commenting on my behavior in the moment--like, i'll be in a conversation, i'll get self-conscious about a thing i just said, and then i'll describe the awkwardness out loud.

#Septopolis Quezacoatl (the Sun god) and Xolotl (the Twilight god) came to the underworld to get bones to create humans. He Who Lowers His Head, Lord of Death, set a price. Quetzacoat must blow a conch as a trumpet and travel 4 years around the Underworld. 1/6 🧵 #WriteSky #WritingCommunity

Good morning #Septopolis. Regardless of its current form (unless it is quite baby of a settlement), it had to have been founded with a purpose in mind. ...and because last year it spilled over for a majority of folks, I'm also lumping the who into this question as well.

A daily prompt card for #Septopolis 2026, hosted by @khonri.com.

Foundations, 5. Why does this settlement exist in the first place (trade hub, outpost, waystation, etc.)? Who were the founders, and was this a transition from a lifestyle of settling from somewhere else?

Interpret each prompt as suits your needs! Talk about relevant characters! Yap! Or don't! Develop a new city or whatever or talk about one you already built. Make friends.

The background features a slightly blurred and purple hued image of the upper section of a set photograph of Main Commercial Street in Fritz Lang's Metropolis (UFA, 1927) of towering buildings.

#SongsOfSeptember I'm going to throw this for a loop and NOT do a Lucifer/Virgil song. Have instead a Metatron/Lord Satan song, which are not a couple, but a strained grandparent relationship (from the Metatron's side). Satan is the optimistic one in this exchange. #WriteSky #WritingCommunity

Good morning #Septopolis. This is a chance to talk about some of your fantastical creations if you have any or, perhaps in less magical settings, how a particular animal or plant was important. For example, a symbol of hope or calamity or a means of survival (dense calories for harsh seasons).

A daily prompt card for #Septopolis 2026, hosted by @khonri.com.

Foundations, 4. Separate from the aforementioned resources, what unique forms of life--magical included--are found in this area? To what importance do these hold to the founding residents?

Interpret each prompt as suits your needs! Talk about relevant characters! Yap! Or don't! Develop a new city or whatever or talk about one you already built. Make friends.

The background features a slightly blurred and purple hued image of the upper section of a set photograph of Main Commercial Street in Fritz Lang's Metropolis (UFA, 1927) of towering buildings.
