Kyoka: she's the Demon King 'reincarnated' (not exactly). The mixture of 10000 years of demonic experience, magical power, AND completely normal kid/teen issues makes a really compelling blend that holds attention, I think. She's also ADORABLE when she's not being scary. 🧵 #AugCharWork

August Character Workshop Day 4. Flair #AugCharWork I’m calling this section Flair. What is unique about this character? Not every character needs to have something unique, but if they don’t then the audience will typically forget them as they walk off stage.

In "Blow Me Down," this is Quartermaster Talullah. She is trans. She tells Tack this as she's afraid to tell Bo'sun, but Bo'sun is actually very flustered by her. Tack knew, as he dressed her wounds, and then he brutally murdered her fiancé. She raises cochineal beetles and mushrooms in the hold.

A tan woman holding a spider in one hand and a large crook in the other. She has boots, a skirt with netting and a netting pattern in gold and green on it. She's wearing a purple undershirt and a knitted pattern off the shoulder shirt. She's also wearing goggles and has a scarf tied in a bow around her neck. The name "Talullah" is at the bottom.

#MythAugust The Dark Dweller/Erebos is the most powerful entity. It does have Chosen among it's infected, all universally unwilling parties. Beneath them are the Dark Disciples, humans doomed to die and rise again. They carry a squirt gun that fires Dark Water. 1/3 #WriteSky #WritingCommunity

#MythAugust 5 Today is about hierarchy! Who ranks highest or lowest among your gods/spirits/whatever? Is there a consensus about this ranking? As usual, interpret the question as loosely as you need to to fit your specific worldbuilding, and feel free to skip if it's not relevant to you! 😊❤️

#MythAugust prompt for Aug 5:
Let's talk hierarchy! Which of your deities are more powerful/respected? Are there minor deities who serve the big ones?

#SumLuv In middle school, someone asked me if I thought a girl was hot. My first thought was "What does her temperature matter?" the second was "Should I get her a glass of water?" The first love story I "got" was Sherlock Holmes and Irene Adler's platonic non-romance. #WriteSky #WritingCommunity

#CartAugust Still talking about the features of the terrain. Today: water! Where is it, and can we use it to get around! Is it fresh and life-giving or poisonous? If you don't have water, talk to me about navigable ways

#AwesomeCharacters I'd say it's probably Wulf. As he's likely trying to stay quiet while *things* are going on. It'd be very noisy if it was Flint, as he'd be whining playfully, and Sky would be giggling. I'd, hopefully, be busy with Tack. 😳🤣 #WriteSky #WritingCommunity

You shall not pass! Hey #CartAugust crew, time to dive in and really start looking at your maps. Today, we're talking elevation: highs, lows, and if you have neither, barriers to movement. Tell me about the geology, the history, famous explorers who lost their lives there... What do I need to know?

#CartAugust This was the easiest way for me to explain how/why the island is the way it is. 😶😅 It's intended to be a rough terrain/biome equivalent for counterpart Eurasian zones as they were during Earth's Miocene. 🧵1/3 #WritingCommunity

Image depicting the Northern Enclosure island that contemplates the Eurasian landmass. This image includes exaggerated elevation maps of Europe and Asia in order to draw lines of equivalency from Earth-side areas to their corresponding Enclosure-side locations. There is also an inset showing that a narrow isthmus to the northwest of the island appears to have been artificially dug through to effectively disconnect a peninsula from the rest of the island.

#CartAugust Plenty of mountains in Dhashere, none of them impassable. The Na'Vontala are the largest but do have a highway through them granting Dhashereen merchants access to the Supanai and their resources. The monastery in the park at the center of the Na'Shasa is where the protag grew up! The

B&W image of a landmass called Dhashere. At its center is a large inland sea, open ocean to the west. There are 4 ranges of mountains: to the east, hemming the territory in along a north-south margin, the Na'Vontala. To the south and east, a massif within Dhashere's borders called the Na'Shasa. Centrally, just north and west of the inland sea, the Na'Sishasa. North and west of them, stretching from Dhashere across a large island-filled bay to a significant isthmus, the Na'Karr.

#CartAugust 4 Hizril is cut off from its neighbors thanks to 2 mountain ranges: the Mardock Range to the west & the Dalgus Range to the south. In The Brumewalker Archives, these mountains are what keep the Brume contained inside Hizril, w/ a massive wall in the Dalgus Pass blocking the main exit.

I can't answer this! lol, No, but, really, I don't think much would change with the maps as they are now. The XXXs on the border between Xyloria and Olasa KeLen would be gone, as the war is over, but I don't think other borders really change. I DON'T know about the landscape... yet. #CartAugust

#G'day #CartAugust crew! Today, we're living dangerously, brushing up close against the demon Spoilers. The question: if you made two maps, a prologue and an epilogue, would they be the same? And if not, how have the events of the story changed this world?

#CartAugust: a prompt game for map nerds by @mcburnell.bsky.com
Intro: Day 3, A world in flux.
If you were to make two maps, one true to the first chapter of your story, one true to the last, would they be different? In what ways?
(how to treat potential spoilers is entirely up to you)
