“Murder in a Small Town” - too late for me, save yourself. You know who did it, I know who did it, we just need the police to get there.

The CDU-Landtagsfraktion all up in arms with Merz like yes, he’s running the country to the ground, but should draw a line at the party.
Ditto! I also don’t do lawns. My lawn will be wildflowers and ‘weeds’. No way I’m growing grass to cut and weed and do nothing on it. I love fox and cubs! I discovered it this month and have seeds germinating on a windowsill. www.instagram.com/reel/Da4uvMk...
Should you need a used round white metal balcony table, I’m giving one away in Frankfurt. It’s rusty in spots because I’ve been using it as a plant stand. My husband wishes to wade through the plants and drink his coffee at a decent table.
Was IST mit jungen Leuten die doch Kopfhörer tragen aber trotzdem die Musik so laut gestellt haben, dass mitsingen kann? Die HNOs verdienen nicht genug oder?
I’d dehydrate from crying if I go to one of those dog chooses person adoptions.
My black medic has formed a union with the sweet potato. The last photo is wild strawberry doing wild strawberry things.
At my train stop I was faced with a congregation on the platform waiting to get in, but not let us exit. “Entschuldigung,” I said with an expansive hand gesture and theatrical teacher voice. “Vielen Dank” just as dramatically for the sea had parted. “Gut gemacht”, piped a voice in the back.
Personally, I don’t get why we say look at Marie-France van Heel‘s brain and not her tummy. It may well be that she studied at Cambridge, speaks 3 languages, heads charities or however you say it, but that is to say don’t look at her tummy. Why not? This is what www.threads.com/@zandisussex...

Saw this brilliant post on LinkedIn and thought it was worth sharing here. 🤔

We’d paid the bill at the Sri Lankan restaurant, but sat down again for drinks. My husband goes to pay, but returns saying the drinks were on the house. Me: What? Did you insist? H: Yes M: How? H: I said “are you sure?” M: No, love. You have to go “nonsense, don’t be silly. I’m paying”
Has Spahn resigned from the CDU, the German parliament or only as party chair of the CDU? What about his colleagues who knew, but kept mum? www.theguardian.com/world/2026/j...
Germany’s CDU party chair resigns after using surrogacy to become parent
Jens Spahn had criticised ‘rented wombs’ and his party is opposed to surrogacy, which is banned in Germany

I found the most beautiful set of Emile Henry ceramic oven dishes on Vinted and it arrived like this. The three dishes were on top of each other and wrapped in an old popped sheet of bubble wrap. If I‘d transported this in the car, I‘d have sandwiched them
In Jens Spans Stelle würde ich mich über die Kritik gerade freuen da er mit der Maskenaffäre keine Moralen gezeigt hat, aber jetzt sprechen die Medien sogar von Doppelmoralen.
It’s supposed to rain in Frankfurt in about an hour. If you see a woman dancing in the rain and jumping in muddy puddles, do say hello to me.
I belong to the minority that likes to see real estate videos where the camera isn’t following an arse from room to room.
My little neff (3 1/2 now) started kindie in Australia this year. Every now and then I worry about how this little boy of love and kindness with his toy zebra is out in the world and will meet people who think he is less than and act on it.
I inhabit a body that has not been in the rain for over a month. We left a drought in Frankfurt for another in Brittany. It’s supposed to rain here next week, but we’d have left for dry Frankfurt then. For that my body has been brining in the beautiful sea here giving me less right to complain.

The next person to say “you’re probably used to the heat, right?” is going to get bigly cursed. May your fruit always taste flat.
Having driven through 26-39°C temperatures to Brittany, hallelujah it’s raining. The sky is dark and it’s raining. It’s raining very little, but it’s there.
I was at the gynaecologist today and had time to kill in the Wartezimmer. A mum and her daughter were playing in the children’s corner. The mum built a tower out of wooden blocks on the wooden table and the kid knocked it down. The noise made me wince. I get that kids play and are noisy. But this
As a school teacher who works in a building not designed for this heat, closed up heated in the afternoon with no chance to cool down overnight, I’m happy to trade places with a politician for a few days.
We should make them go and work for the rest of the week in classrooms, kindergartens, shops and offices without AC, and then see if they still think this.
Happy "bees & wasps & flies in the Bäcker products" season to all who celebrate
Someone used one of my favourite words today – ‘kurzweilig’. Which is the opposite of the more commonly used ‘langweilig’, meaning boring. Basically, it’s all how you perceive time - like whiling the day. Kurz (short) = time is flying, it’s enjoyable. Lang (long) = time is dragging, it’s boring.
Currently making it a point to thank all the bus drivers down my route before getting off because they wait an extra minute for passengers and have the A/C on. They make this heat so much more bearable than it would be otherwise.
What are your pantry staples? I made a cold salad with beans, beetroot, a flaked tin of sardines, cucumber, lettuce and tomato. We always have jarred beans and chickpeas around and tins of sardines.
