Drawing this was a bit of a journey! Including a completely different composition at first! The big change between the last stage here and the final was actually applying a lovely painty texture (free stock image) with hard light (my beloved), and playing with the mask on it! #wednesdayWeeklies

-- the gods split into two factions: the prime deities, who loved their mortal children enough to wage war on the primordials; and the betrayer gods, who soundly disagreed. (The Schism for @exandriaartists.bsky.social #roleInitiative!! this was so fun to draw) #criticalrole #criticalroleFanart

Grand digital painting of enormous betrayer gods in the foreground, lit by the divine light of the prime deities in the background. Tiny armies, including a huge fire elemental, sit in mist at their feet. Asmodeus is a horned devil with dark armour and a huge flaming scythe; Gruumsh is squat and carries a banner of a bleeding eye; Torog has a wormy body and one arm reaching outwards to crawl; two heads of Tiamat are visible. Bane has a tall jagged helmet and carries a chain; Zehir is hooded with three arms (which really means six arms) folded. Lolth's hairy spider legs creep in from the side. In the back, the rays of sunlight shine from Pelor, wearing a white robe; beside him, Erathis, with armour and shield, holds hands with Melora, draped in greenery. The forms of Sehanine and Bahamut are just about visible in the gaps between the betrayer gods. Red lightning courses dramatically through the sky above.
