weird time for media and games but i wanna celebrate a lil W while i can: i’m *reviews editor* at IGN now reviews have long been one of my favorite forms of expression, and i’ve loved helping others fully realize their thoughts/feelings in writing/video, now it’s just fr fr

I still need to put more time into Control Resonant to come back with any meaningful thoughts about it. First impressions are strong, much like my preview. My only big issue is that the camera is pulled back so far that it can be hard to dodge as precisely as needed during bosses

My impressions from the preview build of Wolverine largely hold up. Sound combat that's fundamentally good enough to pull you through the campaign, but it never reaches beyond that baseline level of "good enough." The character work, big action moments, and performances...

Today in: My 3-year-old is the cutest thing ever: He's discovered a little red button I got from the FF7 Rebirth preview event that plays the Final Fantasy victory jingle, and now whenever we play catch and he catches a ball, he starts singing it.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword RULES. Best-in-class combat with some all-timer boss battles. Musashi is an incredible protagonist, Ganryu is a exceedingly memorable and absolutely psychotic foil, the fight choreography is excellent. Action games are back.

My absolute favorite kind of replay review is when you look back at that time you blocked their OD reversal and learn that they decided to play Through the Fire and Flames on Expert in Guitar Hero for the remainder of the round.

The more I play Big Walk, the more I love the general concept of it, but the more I'm kind of let down by how frustrating it can be to just get around. Real annoyed at how easy it is to get stopped by ankle high rocks, twigs, and other minor pieces of geometry.

When I was a student I remember doing reading comprehension questions on standarized tests and thinking "these questions are dumb, who could miss these, the answer is literally in the thing we just read." Now I read comments on my reviews/previews and I understand just how necessary they are.

New review! Tokon is the total package. Great single player, fantastic characters that are fun at all levels of play, gorgeous visuals, excellent learning tools, it’s all here. Full review with a video to follow soon www.ign.com/articles/mar...

Young Ladies Don't Play Fighting Games is making me realize that I want a meta story mode in a big fighting game. Tekken 8 kinda had it with Arcade Quest, and I genuinely love that mode, but there could be so much more done. I want Hikaru no Go, but for fighting games
