last week Ziao Wang defended his thesis entitled "beyond random projections : algorithms-optics synergy in complex media optical computing". Congratulations to the new doctor!

... I found my first prompt injection in a paper I was reviewing. Well hidden, but a simple copy-paste in word revealed it. Interesting times ahead!

I hear that some senior PIs are seriously giving talks about replacing PhD students with armies of robotic arms and agents. Personally I’m not sure PIs aren’t easier to replace… in what world are we living.

I am at the stage in my career where my biggest contribution is sometimes just to remind people about old (meaning >10y) papers, so they don't reinvent the wheel.

Back home after a great 3-day trip to the NL, for the NNV-AMO meeting, and visiting COPS in Twente and Allard Mosk's group at U. Utrecht. No cheese this time, but I couldn't come back with a collection of great PhD thesis :-). (why do we do A4 format in France? this is soooo much better!)
