Another super litter pick today! Big thanks to everyone who helped out and thanks to Andy Street for joining us again!
Even our neighbourhood cats are feeling the heat!
Been out River Rea exploring with @bhamcitycouncil.bsky.social and Birmingham River Champions. Closed off since at least 2008, we want our river back!
Big thanks to Space Right Europe for kindly donating four duplicate notice boards to a Bradford Street apartment block. We aim to copy this across other blocks and will pin up community notices to help residents stay informed. Thanks again for supporting our community!
Our next litter pick is happening this Saturday at 11am outside The Edge on Cheapside, hope to see you there!
🌞Excellent News! US not-for-profit, the Civis Foundation, have purchased the Methodist Central Hall in Birmingham. It is the charity's first UK acquisition and restoration project. 🧵 Read more: tinyurl.com/4y2fep4k 📷 Tim Bridges
Spotted on Bradford Street earlier… the great Carl Chinn!
Our monthly River Rea water quality monitoring results are in...
Another great monthly litter pick today with 30 bags filled, big thanks to everyone who helped!
Our next monthly litter pick is taking place this Saturday at 11am. We've got a *new* starting point spot as we now meet at The Edge, 79 - 81 Cheapside. We'll still be finishing at The Anchor for a well deserved drink though! Hope to see you there!
Loss of the entire Birmingham Friends of the Earth Warehouse in fact, not just its cafe and bookshop! We are horrified by this, and we believe the rail improvements don't need to require this. More information here - grateful for any responses defending us. birminghamfoe.org.uk/help-us-save...

Been sent a link today to the Midlands Rail Hub consultation, was quick and easy to complete. If you've got a few mins, please fill in the consultation and support this great scheme! Here's the link... www.mrhalliance.co.uk/home
Join us tomorrow 6 July, 6–8pm at The Warehouse, Digbeth (B5 5TH) to hear the latest on city centre bus improvement schemes, including Lancaster Circus, Corporation Street, Moor Street Queensway, Park Street and Coventry Road. Everyone is welcome – come along, hear the updates and ask questions.
We had our first ever pot luck lunch earlier at The Edge and what a day! Super nice food from here to Hong Kong, Iran, Nigeria and beyond. Thanks to Friction Arts for the idea and to everyone who came and contributed!
We had our community forum earlier this week. Lots of great community updates, plus PCC Simon Foster came along for a Q&A too. Thank you to everyone who helped and got involved, and to the super Friction Arts team at The Edge for hosting us! We next meet 27th Oct at 6.30pm, see you then!
We’ve been sent this event to share, a great cause and a great way to spend a Sunday morning!
While the criminal neglect by some landowners of our architectural heritage continues, it is some comfort that BCC’s responsiveness to such issues is so much better! The top right window is on the verge of falling onto the pavement…
Our next community forum is happening on Tuesday 30th June from 6.30pm to 8pm in The Edge, 79 - 81 Cheapside. There'll be community news and an in person update from Police and Crime Commissioner Simon Foster. Hope to see you there!
Our monthly River Rea water quality monitoring results are in, and the cute family of ducks are still there :)!
Another busy clean up for our monthly litter pick today with 20 bags filled! Thanks to all who helped 👍️
It's all kicking off today on Bradford Street... thankfully it's just Peaky Blinders filming!
Our next monthly litter pick takes place this Saturday at 11am outside The Anchor Digbeth as usual, hope to see you there!
For as long we can remember, residents and visitors have told us ‘Digbeth needs a BID’. After much hard work by a brilliant BID team, the time is here and ballots will be going out soon. To those that have a vote, we say ‘VOTE YES!’

A look at what could be when the River Rea is accessible to all, this can't happen soon enough!
It seems like the only certainties in life are death, taxes and @bhamcitycouncil.bsky.social being unable/unwilling (take your pick!) to protect pedestrians from cars driving on the Moat Lane footpath
Did our usual River Rea water quality monitoring yesterday and saw a cute family of ducks
