In an application which echoes the infamous Welsh Street battles in Liverpool a decade ago, Blackpool Council are attempting to bring about the demolition of 300 C19th terraced houses and the decimation of the character of one of Blackpool's most distinctive wards, Revoe. 🧵

Guildhall Feoffment has submitted plans to demolish a number of unlisted, single-storey almshouses built in 1912, on Northgate St in Bury St Edmunds. They wish to build eight homes on two floors for the elderly. The front building is being retained. Numbers 3 to 8 behind will be demolished. #suffolk

Thanks to the member of the public who brought this planning application for the listed Denmark Arms in East Ham to our attention. We have recommended the application be refused as we remain to be convinced an adult gaming centre is genuinely the only viable option for this Grade II Victorian pub. 🧵

On 14th June engineering titans Beyer Peacock will be celebrated at Brookfield Church, Gorton with a service, wreath-laying and talks. 2026 marks the 150th anniversary of the death of firm co-founder Charles Frederick Beyer. Beyer is a notable LGBTQ+ innovator and engineer. 🧵
