New video! Join me as I take a trip to Normandy with some chums to visit the battlefields of Operations Martlet, Epsom and Bluecoat, following the footsteps of Paul's dad in 1944 and looking at the locations of the Martlet Pint-Sized Campaign: youtu.be/tWuuzWE2vJk #history #spreadthelard

tonight's game of CoC with Steve. British hold a town against German attacks. Despite the British giving them a bloody nose, the Germans reverse their fortunes with close assaults that collapsed the British force morale Table and figures all by Steve. #wargaming #spreadthelard

In the ongoing effort to clear the painting desk, I completed a second epic scale French square from @imperatormodels. Sculpted by @martins_3d_studios commissioned by Neale, this is another lovely model that was a pleasure to paint. #wargaming #Napoleonic #epicscale

Along with the Paras I finished this Churchill AVRE petard that @thedexmchenry.bsky.social very kindly gave me from the platoon box he'd just bought. 15mm Battlefront model. #wargaming #WW2wargaming

Trying to clear some stuff that has been on my painting desk for a few weeks. First up is his extra British Paratrooper Section, (a support option) and a Vickers MMG with Para crew. All 15mm from Peter Pig and Battlefront. #wargaming #15mm

In today's game of CoC2 at the Outpost demo Sunday the Indian forces pushed up with supporting tanks against a Japanese defence line centred on a village. The Indians broke through the Japanese lines and opened up their flanks. Terrific game by @thedexmchenry.bsky.social #spreadthelard #wargaming

Good fun at the Outpost today. We managed to run our Chain of Command 2 'Road to Meiktila' demo game twice for people who have not played Chain of Command before. Thanks to @stormofsteel.bsky.social for helping run the games. Plentyvof positive feedback. #15mm #spreadthelard #wargaming

WIP on some 6mm First World War British. Figures from Baccus, bases from War bases. #wargaming #WIP #6mm

The Battle of Britain in box! Here's a cheeky review and look at Angels One Six, the forthcoming aerial dogfighting #wargame. There's some interesting stuff in the game, and not just that, fully painted aircraft models. What did I think of it? Find out here: youtu.be/vAzPj3zqqJk

I finished off the batch of 6mm First World War trenches that I bought from Time Cast. I have enough for a front line, and a couple of support lines. However, I still need more! Curves, pillboxes shorter sections, etc. but I'll have to wait until they are back in stock... #wargaming

I painted this epic scale (15mm) French square recently. They should be available soon on Imperator's website, but in the meantime you can also buy the British squares (my affiliate link: www.imperatormodels.com?ref=stormofs... use the code ALEXSOTHERAN to get 10% off). #wargaming #Napoleonic

I've been sent a copy of Angels One Six, a new aerial dogfighting game. Expect a review soon. #wargaming

A very sunny and brief visit to the Battlefield of Agincourt.

More exploration of Normandy today with an emphasis on Op Bluecoat, Villers Bocage and finally Arromanches beach

A visit to a number of sites in Normandy, following Operations Martlet and Epsom along with a trip to Baron where the KSLI fought in July of 1944 and finishing with a look at Hill 112 and some field walking which yeilded a British 3" Mortar fin. #stormofsteelwargaming #battlefields

A battlefield visit to Crécy, France. #history #medieval #hundredyearswar

In this new video I play through the All Hell Let Loose: Great War Nimy Bridge 1914 scenario as a demonstration of how the game works, check it out here; youtu.be/ENBkhLojkZA

Started on the Time Cast 6mm trenches just to get some ideas about colour schemes and what works. Pretty pleased with how these first two have come out. #wargaming

December 1917, the Canadians assault Passchendaele village bringing a close to the Battle of 3rd Ypres. Using my 15mm collection I tried out a smallish game of All Hell Let Loose: Great War yesterday, to get some of the rules in my head. #wargaming

Testing out some layouts with my new 6mm First World War trenches from Time Castle that arrived today. I got the basics long sections first and will add some more curves and fortifications as required in future. These are resin and are packed with detail. #wargaming

Two more choppers take off for Vietnam. These have been on the painting table for some time now as I was waiting for a new set of decals to come through. I got them from Miscellaneous Miniatures (in the EU from Sieben Schwaben Spiele). I think seven Hueys is probably enough now... #wargaming

A bit of Midgard tonight with LOTR Orcs versus Elves. @thedexmchenry.bsky.social #wargaming #spreadthelard

A quick and dirty bunch of bushes. Every table needs scatter terrain and this is an easy solution. I used some MDF bases I had that were flocked and had Green Stuff World bushes added with a few tufts stuck in for good measure. #wargaming #terrain

Here's a very short video of the games on show at Ebor Lard this weekend. I was too busy playing and chatting to get any interviews, or more footage, but it'll give you a good idea of what was on offer: youtu.be/mYGTfLovHys #wargamaning #SpreadtheLard

Over the weekend I also finished off these three parachutes and jumping off points/objectives for the 15mm Peter Pig paratrooper platoon. #wargaming #spreadthelard #15mm

Up at Ebor Lard today. Lots going on! #spteadthelard #wargaming

It's not often that a set of First World War rules impresses me, so did the new All Hell Let Loose: Great War do that? Find out here: youtu.be/7AZialX_MyQ #wargaming #WW1

France 1940, the Dunkirk perimeter and a determined German attack is launched against British positions. Despite a spirited defence the German weight of arms slowly overwhelms the plucky BEF. Steve's terrain and figures gave us a brilliant game of CoC2. #wargaming #Chainofcommand #spreadthelard

A project over a year in the completing, but I have at last finished. All the teeth arms of 7th Amoured Division ready for the table. Read more on the blog sectionattack.blogspot.com/2026/09/7th-... #chainofcommand #spreadthelard #wargaming part 1

The final British para section (and a sniper), along with the full platoon, two PIATs and the personalities, all from Peter Pig in glorious 15mm scale. #wargaming #WW2 #15mm
