Some of you have forgotten that only three years ago you were perfectly capable of writing an essay, writing a eulogy, telling a bedtime story to a child, and it should worry you that powerful companies have convinced us we can’t do things we’ve been doing for 5,000 years.

Yes every woman has been harassed, many assaulted. But every woman has also experienced invisible loss from moments she avoided harassment. She felt a space becoming unsafe, so she left, while men stayed on. And in leaving, she lost: opportunities, experiences, learning, promotions, even simply fun.

one of the reasons that I warn researchers away from adapting commercial LLMs into their pipeline is that Big Tech has a history of sunsetting popular, usable products and replacing them with worse ones. (i'm trying to ween myself off of google scholar, but it is hard).

In the vein of AI making everything better 🙄 today google discontinued their google assistant that we used to verbally add things to a grocery list. Instead you now have to use Gemini which cannot complete the same task. Anyone have a good android list app that allows you to add things by speaking?

I hear your frustration. Google transitioned from Google Assistant to Gemini to provide a more capable, conversational Al partner that can handle complex tasks, reasoning, and context across Google apps.

However, Gemini is still evolving, and certain simple assistant features (like specific smart home integrations or list management quirks) are still being refined.

okay I do get the thing about 'oh if you always knew he was bad why didnt you say so!' as an angry response to "I always knew he was bad I just couldnt explain it" Sometimes you can just think someone is annoying and you keep your mouth shut because thats polite/not a moral thing.

literally surviving primarily because of the relationships i've made with developers who thankfully want to keep me around for their next releases. no big sprawling rpg with a giant music budget in my future, likely, but a girl can still dream of an industry that wants to take risks again :-)

EXCLUSIVE: 2026 is shaping up to become one of the most nefarious years for video game layoffs. I spent the last couple of months asking game music composers a very simple question: how are you holding up? nowplaying.cool/how-indie-ga...

Sometimes I miss splatoon. However I much prefer beastieball comp scene. and fire emblem. and my weird schedule not interfering with 8 other people...

beastieball is the creature turn-based volleyball ever i love these little guys and if you wish pokemon didn't have unsettling animal rights issues and just wanted to hang out with your team this is the game for you

If you're wondering if we're on sale for the Steam Autumn sale, yes...yes we are! As well as the bundle of our studio's other games like Wandersong and Chicory!! I'm overwhelmingly positive that you'll enjoy them... 😏

Having real #MeToo flashbacks today, what with various news stories going around, and thinking a lot about how women were encouraged to rip themselves open and show off our trauma, in all its Technicolor glory, so that men might begin to believe us

also thinking a lot about how #MeToo apparently went too far, when it’s quite obvious now that it didn’t go far enough. it didn’t really go anywhere. there were no lasting consequences of that cultural moment beyond people making jokes about it.
