Honestly charging hourly at all at a reasonable rate (I wouldn't go lower than $35/hr for ppl who maybe feel like 50 is too much), and sticking to those hours/those rates, tends to weed out the worst of the worst, because it shows the client you value your time straight out of the gate.

There really needs to be a standard set in place for artists to use. Like no matter your skill level you need to be charging at least $50/hr kinda thing We all have the personal experience to know that the people hunting for fully rendered work for that cheap are the most opportunist fuckers around
