Been awhile since I announced one of my normal editing streams, but I'm working on the cut of our reaction to Walsh's atrocious "real history" on twitch.tv/cynicalhisto... right now

There are only a few ethical uses of AI for HistoryTubers, such as colorizing images, finding the original source of something, and quality checking wording. These are simply glorified tools that long predate generative AI. Pretty much any other usage is contemptible
I acquired a drone to assemble an ambitious episode about attending all Albuquerque museums. Check it out: youtu.be/gZnrkzYM9SI
I Went to Every Museum in Albuquerque
I went to every museum in Albuquerque and wanna talk about it. For a medium sized city, there’s a bunch of museums in Albuquerque with a huge variety. I’ll tell y’all what to know ahead of going to…

I created an Amazon storefront that has lists of books used (in selected bibliographies) for 2 years of episodes. I'll add more years later, but you can check it out here: a.co/d/04fCDUNB
I've heard of junk dollars, but this is ridiculous
Is it weird that I've been listening to this mostly while I eat, walk to lunch, make dinner, or take a shower? Could you stomach that?
I turned 38 yesterday and to celebrate… my Jeep broke down. Had a battery terminal deteriorate internally. Easy fix but costly to diagnose. At least I've got a fun episode on visiting local museums releasing Thursday
Been researching the next chapter of my book and I've taken to abbreviating the event I'm studying in my notes as LA71. Any guess what I'm gonna write about? Give you a clue: 71 - 22 = The Forty-Niners
Notice when TeamYouTube implemented this new view counting nonsense. They destroyed one of the few reliable measurements we had for videos. Watch time doesn't work, because the amount depends on the length of the video itself. How am I to measure success now?
Many LeftyTubers use PragerU's puppeteered John Adams spewing Ben Shapiro quotes. Genuine question: Was I the first to highlight that? I was flabbergasted by their desperate depravity in that moment. Here's me discovering it live on July 17th, 2025 www.youtube.com/live/5IHPKYF...
An incredibly insipid part of the culture war is how chuds always boil historical media down to whether it's "woke" or not. There's better discussions to have about such depictions and their significance to our understanding of the past. Chuds invalidate their own opinions
Maybe because it's the Huron word for "great lake," so it's not "your own history." Leave it to Matt Walsh to turn this into another way to erase indigenous people from history. After his abhorrent "real history of American Indians," his racism holds no bounds
I've had several comments already - so let me explicit: Chief of War is NOT comparable to Woman King whatsoever. They make completely different mistakes and one is significantly worse than the other altogether. Please acquire better correlations
There's some funny choices that demonstrate his tyrannical impulses. The use of AI pics reveals lacking creativity. And it excludes WHHarrison, Garfield, Truman, Ike, LBJ, Nixon, Ford, Reagan, & both Bushes - proving his historical illiteracy
this is so incredible I can’t stop laughing because he forgot to include Reagan
Dude couldn't come up with a better name to troll with? Lake INFERIOR was so obvious, but this dimwitted doddering dictator doesn't discern dictionary definitions. At least have fun while trampling every principle and alliance America once cherished
Star and Stripes was a genuinely great newspaper, but Hegseth ruined it. MAGA has ruined WaPo, CBS, PBS, NPR, Pentagon press access, and so much more. Coinciding with their destruction of education, America is well into a fascist takeover of public perception
This is from Udo J. Keppler in 1912, but it feels all the more relavent today
Who is stupid enough to fall for this scam? YouTubers have the ability to mass report spam. Be sure to do so if you find this filth in your comments section
With @knowingbetter.nebula.tv's help, I reviewed "Chief of War" and got to tell the exhilarating story of Hawaii's unification. Check it out: youtu.be/e9f6DR5V5W0

I'm editing an episode about the beginning of the Wobblies (IWW) and Goldfield, NV. Somehow I extemporized a bit about wacky deaths during minework throughout the cemetary into insight about the urgency of unionization. Kinda impressed with myself, not gonna lie
I still can identify obscure armored vehicles with only a couple seconds to see it
If I see the verb "slams" in a headline, I automatically disregard it
This might be the fanciest introduction I've ever filmed. Had a friend press up on time, and then I ran over and took the controls. With the music it looks fantastic
How do I get in on this racket of copyright claiming public domain videos? Lots of money to be made by swindling creators who aren't willing to fight it. Not like TeamYouTube will ever punish anyone abusing their system to commit this crime
Despite the rightful rage at MAGA's opposition to education and history, don't forget some are genuinely unable to accept reality. They've fallen into a cult. Many honestly do NOT intend cruelty or to harm America, they simply like the feigned patriotism. Remember Hanlon's razor
We should constantly remind the censorious reactionaries and fascists who attack our education system that they they are, in fact, the ones who are unamerican. Anyone who still supports MAGA curricula, book bans, or school accreditation is not merely ultranationalists, but ...
If you can somehow lose patriotism by teaching about atrocities in your history, then you are not a patriot - you are a sniveling chauvinist. Patriots can learn of their country's past; nationalists must mythologize it because they're too cowardly and ethnocentric to accept history
The original Fox News (1919-1963) had superior reporting to the 1996-present version in every meaningful way
Amazing how checking the footnotes of a book can instantly sour my opinion of that work. Citing sources should be a historian's no.1 priority. Notice that I use full CMS in my episodes, if I'm not just showing the source on screen? Rigor is even more important in a juried press
