It is dad’s 21st death anniversary today. I desperately wish I knew him as an adult. Tried to clear my head with a walk, then do my Eid shop to get my niblings’ gifts. But then suddenly took a funny spell and have spent the rest of the day laying on the sofa/in bed poorly.

I finished this yesterday. It was ok…. Clumsy in parts, boring in parts, and really interesting in other parts. Not my favourite read of the year so far, but for a first time novelist - not bad!

I still have a hoarse voice, and achy sinuses, and my inner ears are painful and keep crunching… But I’m in Italy. And the guys who run this hotel are SO nice, they’ve just brought me up some honey and lemon tea. 😢

Last couple of weeks has been tough as HOF. Things I’ve had to juggle: - job descriptions - departments I don’t have an expertise in - deciding on interventions - staff morale - WWW/EBI Wouldn’t it be nice if there was a hotline you could call & someone would give you advice? 😭

Very seldom do I feel absolutely bereft when I finish a book. To the point that I finished it and just re-read the first chapter again, contemplating re-reading the whole thing. This is an incredible book.

I’ve not moved over properly here because I feel like I see about three posts from the people I’ve followed. There’s also very little boxing news on here. I miss the olden days of Twitter 😭😭😭

Word of the day is one I mention often. To have the ‘mubble-fubbles’, in the 16th century, was to experience a fit of despondency or low spirits - another name for the Sunday blues.
