Born #OTD in 1892 - Philip St. John Basil Rathbone (13 June 1892 - 21 July 1967). Through 14 films and countless hours of radio, his cinematic portrayal of Sherlock Holmes stands as the most iconic and influential media representation of the character in the latter half of the 20th century.
A happy heavenly birthday to Basil Rathbone who was my gateway drug into all things Holmes.
