Tayeb* was just 16 when he fled Sudan and came to the UK seeking safety. When his age was wrongly recorded, he was detained at Harmondsworth IRC and treated as an adult. With support from our Detention Outreach Team, he secured an age assessment and was eventually released into care.

Our #ESOL classes are an opportunity to read, speak, and listen with lots of praise and laughter. We offer weekly classes, helping our friends gain confidence in approaching essential tasks like shopping for food or going to the GP, as well as learning about British culture and major events

Many of our refugee friends are barred from accessing public funds, leaving them at risk of homelessness. Thanks to the support of The Charles Plater Trust we are working to ensure that more people can access safe and stable housing, helping to rebuild their lives and access further support.

Last week, our wonderful sewing team completed their first series of classes. Designing beautiful tote bags that they can everyday.
