I was raised in liberal Los Angeles, and my parents had friends and colleagues of every faith, many nationalities, and the cardinal rule in our household was never to judge ANYONE on the basis of their faith, creed, color, or heritage. My parents modeled this well. Would that more were so raised.

Yes, this tracks, and is how I feel as well. It's like the friend who awoke me repeatedly in the early 80s, because her husband had beaten her yet again; I'd take her to the ER at 2 or 3 AM, only to be virtually worthless at work the next day, then every time she'd go back to him. Just no. No. 🤬🙄🤬
