Gift link. Bezos might have tried to cripple the WP but they still get this reporting. Good on them. TFW the Secretary of Defense - who fancies himself by another name - thinks he’s playing Call of Duty and that he can sign in again and have unlimited munitions. Nope. wapo.st/4hQVTF0

My latest story has some intrigue. FCC finally released Chairman Brendan Carr’s financial report for 2025 late Friday. The report states Paramount gave him tickets to the gala worth $12,390. But he and his wife sat in skybox seats that sold for $125,000 a piece. www.propublica.org/article/fcc-...

Gift link, because you’ll want to read this whole thing: In a 19-page filing, [Pirro’s] office undermined everything Trump has been saying about damage to the Reflecting Pool. “The damage was the result of a botched installation and not vandalism,” her office wrote in a motion to dismiss the case.

How the Reflecting Pool Vandalism Case Fell Apart

This is Comet Leonard during its approach to the Sun, imaged by Gerald Rhemann on Christmas Day 2021. The comet had been discovered earlier that year, and broke apart in 2022. This photo won the overall prize for Rhemann of the Royal Observatory Greenwich's Astronomy Photographer of the Year 2022.

A bright point of light at the top of the image is the comet's nucleus; the comet's gas and dust tails trail from the nucleus to the bottom of the image. Complex structures in the dust tail result from outbursts from the nucleus as it undergoes solar heating.

“Dallas is amazing, unbelievable. It’s so nice. I’m coming back here, I’ll tell you what. The people are just so nice here, so positive. I don’t know what it is. They’re just like enjoying life. It’s amazing, so friendly." ---- Norwegian soccer star Erling Haaland, upon visiting for the World Cup.

Should not have taken 48 minutes to do this, much less 48 hours. Pro tip: Do the full oppo research on every candidate, even ones who say there’s nothing there - especially those, in fact — at the beginning of a campaign. Lest *gestures to all of this*

BREAKING: In a new video, Graham Platner announces he is suspending his campaign for U.S. Senate, opening the door for Maine Democrats to pick a new candidate to take on incumbent Susan Collins this fall.

Didn’t really care about soccer/futbol/World Cup. Now watching my third match. On Telemundo. Because I’m still unclear how the announcer can say GOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAALLL for a full entire minute without taking a breath. It’s amazing ⚽️

He can not sign it. It still becomes law July 9. Unless…. He could veto it. And the chances of Republicans voting to override his veto — even though the bill cleared the chambers by huge majorities — are nil.

Trump on the bipartisan housing bill he refuses to sign: "There's a lot of Democrat points in there that I don't even think are good. I'd rather not sign anything until we sign the SAVE America Act."
