With higher naturalization fees, longer tests, doubling denial rates, “neighborhood investigations,” slow processing and denaturalizations, Trump officials are making U.S. citizenship harder to acquire and easier to revoke. @mclem.org @douglasrivlin.bsky.social www.forbes.com/sites/stuart...

Trump Immigration Policies Make It Harder To Get And Keep Citizenship

The Trump administration has implemented immigration policies making U.S. citizenship harder to acquire and easier to revoke.

If illegal immigrants could destabilize the financial system, it shouldn't be debanking them AND deporting them. The fact that it's doing exactly what it says would cause instability proves it 1) doesn't believe its own claims or, frighteningly, 2) that it might not care!

NEW The ICE officer allegedly involved in the shooting of an immigrant in Maine testified in 2025 that he lost his driver's license and had new health issues. A judge found him not credible. Credibility will be key in the shooting probe, lawyers say. Link: www.washingtonpost.com/immigration/...

ICE officer linked to Maine shooting was deemed not credible in court last year

State and local officials are rebutting David Brouillette’s claims in court about losing his driver’s license and being employed as a local officer.

DHS is the most dishonest agency in the entire government. Does even the CCP lie this frequently to its people? Whether it is killing people or covering up killing people, it cannot be trusted.

🚨The witnesses to Lorenzo's killing by ICE in Houston allege it was straight murder, that they shot at him when he was cornered, and then finished him off AFTER he stopped the van. That there was a 2nd shot after he stopped has not before been made public.

Trump's $4 billion Presidential windfall is unprecedented in scale & source. Obama's wealth grew from royalties from books written before office, and Bush's largely came from a sports‑team stake from over a decade prior. Trump's new billions are from deals made in office.

"Homan is admitting what the record shows: ICE has been endangering its officers and others for no enforcement benefit. Ending vehicle stops won’t end all the problems, or even all the deaths. But continuing them means more danger for ICE personnel and the public." www.cato.org/commentary/t...

Trump’s Order to Resume ICE Traffic Stops Means More Danger for the Public

Even his own immigration czar admits that permanently ending the stops would better protect ICE agents, their targets and the public.

An ICE private prison guard shot Emma Landis as Emma protested on the sidewalk, while he was in his car waiting to enter the facility. He and all his ICE friends waiting to enter did nothing to help her, and she had to call 911 herself.

For weeks now they've claimed they didn't have body cams because Dems shut down the government. NOW we find out that they did have body cams and they didn't turn them on. Unbelievable, and the excuse shows how the billions being spent are corrupting government...

One of ICE's private prison guards shot a protester outside the ICE detention facility and drove off. He was apprehended and charged with attempted murder. One upside of private prisons is that it actually makes charging their employees easier than if they worked for ICE

🚨This statement admits DHS lied. There is nothing about weaponizing the vehicle or attempting to run over the officer. He says the agent was "inside the van or immediately next to it." OK, he was not "inside the van," so he just gunned him down from the side of the van.

The most anti-legal immigrant administration ever just made it illegal for international students to transfer schools or change majors or shift any "educational objective" in their 1st year and for graduate students **at any point** ever, at all. There is no legal basis for this

This requires convoluted legislation passed on (and repealable by) a party line vote because there is no such thing as objectively "fair maps" under SMDs. It's still the tyranny of the map, trying to ex ante approximate proportionality on the maps instead of results responsive to the votes cast.

Joey Fishkin@fishkin.bsky.social · 2mo ago

The level of ambition is correct. I would start with DC statehood. But see this new paper for why fair maps are a better goal than proportional representation—and how Congress can actually legislate fair maps, if there is a D trifecta in 2029, using partisan constitutional hardball:

We knew they'd throw out every irrelevant smear they could to go after their victims. No, you don't get to execute people and then claim it's because... he had a personal habit the government disapproves of. Less relevant than what they got on Alex Pretti.

You can't have a free society where the law stands in the way of US citizens being with their spouses, parents, and children, where law enforcement would rather kill them than let them be together. Freedom requires respecting our rights of association.

At a vigil held for Lorenzo Salgado Araujo in Houston on Saturday, his sons recalled their father’s love of soccer and said they would “continue to keep fighting for him.”

Lorenzo Salgado Araujo was likely shot while he turned around. Agents jumped out, even though his van was not stopped. Another ICE car hits his van in the side. An agent who got out of the 1st car fired from Lorenzo's passenger side, hitting him in his right abdomen.

Homan just admitted ICE has been endangering the public, its targets, and its own officers by making record vehicle stops without even an enforcement upside! He admits that they could be arresting people outside of their cars but haven't been, yet ICE plans to restart them again!

WHOA DHS does not say that the agent feared for his life… just the vague concern for “public safety.” So he killed him just because he did not want him in America, not because of any specific threat to agents?
