A great recommendation for one of my favourite flash writers from one of my favourite short story writers.

It's a trotters up from me & LitPig for the wonderful 'Redshirts Sometimes Survive' by @finnwritesstuff.bsky.social (Off Topic Publishing). I laughed & cried a bit too. The final story begins "We are the Bridge Crew", it is a joyous anthem and one of my all-time favourite flash fictions.

Burnham’s failure to link the current heat, fires, drought (and maybe the Lewes train crash) to climate change very publicly does not inspire confidence. I doubt there’s anybody not feeling the affects it, by now, or doubt the causes. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

Hot topic: why is Burnham so reluctant to talk about the climate crisis?

Extreme heat is harming wellbeing of ordinary people the PM champions, yet little has been said on the topic
