Here is a timelapse of the partial solar #eclipse of Aug 12, 2026, quickly assembled from the best shots. Notice the difference in color due to the polarized filters. At some point the filter was no longer needed so the colors are natural.
Maximum of solar #eclipse of Aug 12, 2026. 300 mm telephoto lens with two stacked circular polarizers, one handheld, never looked directly into the viewfinder, had to find the perfect rotation for maximum amount of filtering. Last minute, no preparation... but still nice.
Preparing some low-tech equipment for the partial solar #eclipse using an old poster tube, tinfoil pinhole at one end, transfer paper at the other, some black paper to reduce ambient light...
We are proud to announce that StripAlign 2.29 fully supports the LAS 1.5 standard. While it converts timestamps to adjusted GPS internally, it fully preserves the timing accuracy when writing the aligned LiDAR point clouds.
