Thank you! “Steadily worsening conflicts over access to fresh #water increasingly shape the world. No one has studied this subject more thoughtfully than Peter Gleick...an urgently important book.” —David Owen, writer (The New Yorker); author of Where the Water Goes thenewpress.org/books/when-t...

Bill McKibben's kind words for my new book: "We finally have a comprehensive account of the building water crisis that we've long needed, and that it comes with workable ideas for addressing it is a great bonus. Peter Gleick speaks with utter authority here." thenewpress.org/books/when-t...

As RFK Jr and Trump desperately try to gaslight us about the #COVID pandemic, remember that 1.2 million Americans died-- one of every 300 people in the country. The COVID-19 vaccine SAVED 3.2 million lives, prevented 18 million hospitalizations, & averted more than $1.15 trillion in medical costs.

Interior Secretary Burgum and Donald Trump continue to blatantly lie about the Reflecting Pool damage, despite clear statements from the DoI and Justice Dept that the damage was "not vandalism" but "botched" and "flawed" installation by Trump's handpicked contractor. www.nbcnews.com/politics/tru...

Trump rebukes Jeanine Pirro on decision to drop Reflecting Pool vandalism case

The president maintained his claim that the pool had been vandalized after Pirro’s office said new evidence showed the damage resulted from a “botched installation.”

Trump's insistence on lying, even when it's obvious to everyone, is deeply pathetic. He's still trying to insist Minnesota (not Iran, as the FBI and federal cybersecurity office say) hacked their own (!!) #water systems. Six other states also reported cyberattacks. www.nytimes.com/2026/08/01/u...

Scope of Hacks on U.S. Water Supply Widens as Evidence Points to Iran

Michigan and Minnesota are among at least seven states coping with cyberattacks aimed at disrupting water systems nationwide.

Is any news outlet going to frame it like this? The subtext of this DOJ filing is that Trump persistently and repeatedly lied about the damage/vandalism to the Reflecting Pool, leading to the false arrest of Hearn and others. It was, no surprise, "contractor error."

BREAKING: Pirro has dismissed the case against Davey Hearn for vandalizing the reflecting pool, saying that there's no way vandals could have caused the damage.

By this twisted logic, victims are to blame, not attackers. For example, Texas, Florida, and many other states have also had water systems suffer cyberattacks. Are they also all to blame? And by this deeply twisted Trump logic, women who are raped are to blame, not their attackers. Think Epstein.

Trump: "We heard in Minnesota there was a cyberattack and they blame it on Iran. I don't think so. I blame it on Minnesota because they're grossly incompetent. Iran's got bigger problems than worrying about Minnesota."

Crappy headline: of course cancer doesn't "care" but it does matters if Republicans follow MAHA pseudoscience suggestions for cancer care and don't get state-of-the-art medical treatment. Oh, and yes, RFK Jr and MAHA and Trump EPA failures to address #water contamination will worsen cancer rates.

Politico headline: "Cancer doesn't care what party you belong to: Poisoned water is turning this rural state bluer."

Measles up. Explosive diarrhea worsening. Salmonella in millions of eggs Cancer research cut. Disease monitoring stopped. Vaccine efforts devastated. Pseudoscience and snake oil medicine proliferating. But Fauci.

Trump/GOP policies are SO unpopular you'd expect Republicans to start to distance themselves. But no. They're still in MAGA lockstep either because they think they have to get away now with as much as possible while they can; or they think they can stay in power by stealing elections.
