idiot on the internet who likes too many things thats it ( some of these things are trains (with faces), mario stuff (mostly paper) and some other things i'll probably mention at a later time. :P )

Was very disappointing to see someone vibecoded a Character Select """inspired""" clone this morning, featuring a claudeified old CS menu and very clunky UI controls. As someone who has put ~3 years of effort into the tastiest UI experience possible, this is insulting. #sm64coopdx #sm64

ModFs Character Select v1.0
Category: Skinpack

this mod lets you use custom characters in any lobby, and nobody has to install them first. when you join a server, your char gets sent to anyone who doesn't have it, and it loads right away. palettes, voices, animations and movesets should carry over. but be aware that animations could have some issues, so just make sure you follow the guide properly. when you extract the zip, just put the modfs-character-select folder in your mods folder. essentially, you'll always be able to play with your character on any server that's hosting this mod, everyone can see it without having to actually download it.

private chars are good for ocs. set private = 1 and everyone still sees your character while you play, but it never gets saved on their game, they can't pick it, and they can't pass it on to anybody else. if you add allow_viewing = 0, people only see the name and icon, not the model at all

open the menu with l + d-pad up or /chars. you can browse your char-addons, see what everyone in the room is using, and swap palettes

there's a guide in the tools folder (how-to-add-char-addons.txt) that walks you through it with file explorer. there's also a template char.ini that explains every setting, there is ALSO an auto converter that packs everything for you that is called cs_to_modfs.py literally all you have to do is put your sav directory on the library tab and then the zip or folder of the cs you want to convert and then boom its converted, or you can do it manually, all the guides are there in the tools folder they tell you how to do everything, so please make sure you read them its very simple.

this is the first release so if anything breaks for some reason let me know, but a ton of testing was done beforehand.

(chars shown in the screenshot ARE NOT included, its just for showcase purpose, you can convert them yourself)A screenshot of the menu featured in the mod release.

no matter what romhack you see, and no matter how much personalized or beta material it has, always remember almost all of them have more effort than chrisrlillo's official b3313 1.0 ;D
