Last week, two voice actors for Hoyoverse game Zenless Zone Zero were recast because they were withholding work due to the SAG-AFTRA Interactive strike. In these videos, we discuss what happened, why the actors chose to withhold work, and what all this has to do with the threat of AI. 1/3

Just a friendly reminder to my fellow actors. DO NOT SCAB. DO NOT REPLACE ACTORS WHO ARE HOLDING THE LINE DURING THIS STRIKE. It is not the leg up that you think it is. If you want a long and healthy career do yourself a favor and think things through before you *act*.

There are many contracts out there with AI protections, but only SAG Interim & Tiered Budget Contracts provide actors with a legal team to enforce the contract at no cost. Legal fees are expensive, and many actors would have to go into debt to enforce our own contracts if they were violated.

Hey all! If you don’t see voice actors commenting on IPs affected by the video game strike or are confused by non-specific responses to questions, all of that is likely because actors are under NDA for a lotttt of things at any given time and probably can’t talk about it.

Actors and this business have a LONG MEMORY. And people will talk and gossip about what YOU DID for a LONG TIME. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT audition for ANYTHING that smells like a recast. Do not go in for side letter 6 games. You think you’re getting away with it but PEOPLE TALK & WE ALL KNOW.

Happy 2025 besties! While it’s a brand new year, we actors are STILL very much on strike. So a reminder that if you’re seeing voices left silent in any games right now, it’s a good indicator that the game isn’t on one of the few safe contracts to work right now.
