from what I know this 'electronic real time correction' of absolut speed of a turntable was for this reason never done by anyone. it is clear that what you measure there of small short time deviances are just measurement errors and trying to 'correct' them will make everything just much worse.

what I mean is that being able to SET all relevant parameters with a motor control is sth else than varying them ie the motor speed in 'realtime' while thinking the platter is more constantly spinning them. It ignores the inertia of the problem and leads to a classical oscillation problem.

it is better to just have a net independent control that you can vary manually and then chose the parameters by external means. In the end always the ear decides, not the algorithm. Also what voltage sounds best (you can reduce voltage on AC motors to make the turntable sound 'cleaner')

already Jean Genet wrote that the police has the traits of the criminals that they have to hunt and surveil and that leads in the case of the german 'anti terrorism units' into one result: the 'suspects' become terrorists. In principle this was also valid in the NSU case.

I have the impression the surveillance by LKA and 'Verfassungsschutz' has a dynamics that transforms prior petty criminals into terrorists. If that is intended by someone or utterly unintended I don't know but the methods are not transparent, nowhere evaluated and possibly criminal themselves.

obviously the CSD attacker knew he was surveilled and long before he 'tested' it. He made a fool out of LKA&co and it poses again the question if the LKA&co are much more than just 'fools'. 'Fools' is a category to evade accountability. www.tagesspiegel.de/berlin/fuhr-...

the thing obviously went into an oscillation, like in the ABS system in cars. but that is not how a constant speed looks like. the ear is also more sensitive to wow and flutter than to absolute speed inaccuracy.

the speed in the Magicquartz project below oscillated in one of his videos by 0.2% around mean but that is the speed deviation and wow and flutter you have without any sophisticated device, just by net freq. fluctuations.

I mean in the end all absolute measures on devices can fail. Of course with this 'quartz' concept one thinks one has an absolute measure but already that measurement with paper strips: when is the signal 'paper strip on/off' established, there are systematic errors you can not really control.

one could use audio signals on test records for regular manual calibration of the 'zero normal' for the speed, that is the only reliable way to ensure the speed is correct as I think. if you calculate the speed based on data of your microcontroller, how do you know its internal clock ticks right?

I think it is better to have a simple control that allows to manually adjust all fundamental parameters ie voltage, speed etc with simple operations on some sort of claviature. Like you can adjust the turntable really by ear in realtime.

the problem with the project below is not that it would not work but that it is too complicated and wrt the real time 'magicquartz' surveillance the algorithm used is opaque and seems in practice too fragile (sensors tearing off, light interfering with measurement etc)

I will now program the microcontroller by myself with the goal to have a *simple* and reliable yet variable turntable motor control for 16V AC motors that anyone can implement in a week or so. Or one offers a cheap kit on the net.. www.medimops.de/lucio-di-jas...

pro-ject offers 'speed boxes' as this one for up to 700eu! Here is how they make their money..not with the turntables..but these concepts are actually not very sophisticated. digitally generated sine waves, then a low pass, amp, ready.

one does not need a 220V output transformer with a 16V motor as in the pro-ject. I now ordered that thing here, maybe a display is needed..but the total costs will be way less than 50eu.. incl. 3D printed case www.ebay.de/itm/20619808...

a simple oscilloscope is maybe needed to check the output sources. But oscilloscopes are in general more useful than one thinks..universal tools. I think really about making this project more accessible for ppl without much electronics knowledge..circumventing the expensive consumer electronics.
