Google AI Mode Sidebar Links Don't Pass Referrers
Google AI Mode doesn't always pass referrer data from the links on the sidebar. This is supposedly being looked at by the Google Search team and hopefully will be fixed soon, if not, already.

It has been about 3 years since I've written in my blog (which just hit its 16th year anni in June!). Just enough time for me to have experimented with updating a content prioritization framework I use that I've now updated to factor in AEO considerations. blog.digital-danielle.com/2026/08/aeo-...

It's a US holiday week and a spam rollout just completed so we are getting a core update rollout now, right?
My AEO/GEO folks, is anyone going to the Profound Zero Click conference in a few weeks?
Has anyone in the organic discovery, AEO, GEO, AI search, LMNOPEO world been able to test if AI bots run crawl queues from pages they access via RAG? I have seen some studies indicating they really only pull metadata in most cases which would definitely indicate no.
What the heck happened to Chrome DevTools. I hate it. I can't search the DOM anymore?!
I hope the DOJ website can handle all the traffic and downloads
Looking for legit AEO/GEO case studies. Found a LinkedIn article with several supposed ones. Went to all the direct sources and the UTM parameters are from chatgpt (as in the LI "expert" just used it to write everything) & all were agency sites describing their approach to earn you as a client 🤦♀️
Still digging into this but it looks a lot like the current trending topics in G Trends!

Where are my Merchant Center pros? If our Shopping (think ads) data feed uses no indexed pages, does that makes us ineligible for free listings? Can we use the canonical_link field in the data to indicate the indexable page to use for free listings?
In February, I started researching to write a near-future dystopian story to harness my anxiety & rage over the news. I'm really disappointed to find more & more news that indicates my predictions for that future are spot on. Maybe I need to write it into being, so my ragtag team can save us all.
Has anyone tried to sign up for the G Trends API and heard back yet?
My kiddo loves the Z-O-M-B-I-E-S movies from Disney. It's the premiere for the latest so we made themed snacks. Pink & green popcorn & shrimp for the OG Seabrookers then garlic crackers, Sun chips, oranges for the Daywalkers then grapes, blueberries and a cheese crescent moon for the Vampires

Saw this tonight and was completely blown away by this set, lighting, etc. Plus, I was a huge Glee fan so lovely seeing Darren Criss. Laughed out loud several times. Excited to see what they take home at the Tony's! youtu.be/U4o-Vg-DrL8?...

So relieved that United changed my flight for my upcoming trip to NYC and offered a refund. Had booked to fly into EWR before all this mess lately, and it was making me so nervous. Headed thru LGA on my preferred airline now!

Republicans ready to invoke the 25th amendment for Biden but make it Trump
Going to see Maybe Happy Ending and Gypsy when I'm back in NYC next. To gear up for seeing Darren Criss in MHE, should I rewatch all of Glee before then?! As a show choir kid, I loved that show. #broadway
Interesting that the "first woman ever to be elected to those positions" is mentioned when that is what they've been purging from records throughout government.
