Tricky with lots of irregular fireworks brightness and infrequent bolts so tonight's were mostly rapid 2-4" exposures with a higher aperture.

The extreme heat has just led to a concrete section of I-97 in Maryland buckling north of Benfield Boulevard. The concrete blowout extends across the travel lanes from shoulder to shoulder. @ianlivingston.bsky.social

In DC, a big slab of concrete fell off a bridge/retaining wall onto I-395 under 7th Street SW earlier today. Similar occurrence in NYC on the Trans-Manhattan Expressway earlier this month.

An update on these two: a neighbor put out rat poison and killed one, a cruel and painful death. It's partner found the body and keep returning even after I removed the body.
