Happy Earth Day! 🌎 Ultimately, we human beings depend on nature, so we must preserve our close relations with her. Sometimes we seem to think that technology will solve our problems and allow us to do whatever we like. This Earth Day let’s remember that the reality is we have to protect our world.

Statement Affirming the Continuation of the Institution of Dalai Lama 🙏🙏🙏 "I hereby reiterate that the Gaden Phodrang Trust has sole authority to recognize the future reincarnation; No one else has any such authority to interfere in this matter. " - H.H. the Dalai Lama #DalaiLama

On 24 Sept 2011,at meeting of heads of Tibetan spiritual traditions, I made statement to fellow Tibetans in & outside Tibet, followers of Tibetan Buddhism & those who have a connection with Tibet &Tibetans, regarding whether institution of the Dalai Lama should continue I stated,“As far back as 1969, I made clear that concerned people should decide whether the Dalai Lama’s reincarnations should continue in future.”…. Although I’ve had no public discussions on this issue, over last 14 yrs leaders of Tibet’s spiritual traditions, members of Tibetan Parliament in Exile, participants in Special General Body Meeting, members of Central Tibetan Administration,NGOs, Buddhists from Himalayan region,Mongolia,Buddhist republics of the Russian Federation & Buddhists in Asia including mainland China, have written to me with reasons, earnestly requesting that institution of the Dalai Lama continue. In particular, I've received messages through various channels from Tibetans in Tibet making same appeal. In accordance with all these requests,I'm affirming that institution of the Dalai Lama will continue. The process by which future Dalai Lama is to be recognized has been clearly established in 24 Sept 2011 statement which states that responsibility for doing so will rest exclusively with members of Gaden Phodrang Trust, the Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. They should consult various heads of Tibetan Buddhist traditions & reliable oath-bound Dharma Protectors who're linked inseparably to lineage of the Dalai Lamas. They should accordingly carry out the procedures of search & recognition in accordance with past tradition.I hereby reiterate that the Gaden Phodrang Trust has sole authority to recognize the future reincarnation; no one else has any such authority to interfere in this matter.

Happy Vesak Day! Buddha Purnima commemorates Buddha Shakyamuni’s birth, enlightenment, & Parinirvana. A precious opportunity for followers of Buddhist teachings to cultivate virtue, relinquish negativity, tame the mind with profound altruistic motivation, recalling Lord Buddha’s life✨

Thus the six syllables, om mani padme hum, mean that in dependence on the practice of a path which is an indivisible union of method and wisdom, you can transform your impure body, speech, and mind into the pure exalted body,

For all who suffer from the misery of poverty, oppression, & torture, ✨ Afflicted by harm, disease, or the imbalance of natural elements, ✨ May their outer and inner hardships and obstacles be wholly pacified, ✨ And may they find enduring peace and liberation from suffering. ✨ ཨོཾ་མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་ཧཱུྃ། 🪷

The most popular mantra in Tibet is the Buddhist mantra of Avalokiteshwara, Bodhisattva of Compassion. ཨོཾ་མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་ཧཱུྃ་ཧྲཱིཿ (In Tibetan) "I believe in altruism. No matter how capable a person may be, no one can survive alone. We depend on the community in which we live. By dedicating ourselves to the welfare of others, we actually bring about our own benefit. As soon as I wake in the morning, I dedicate myself to helping others to be happy, which gives me self-confidence and inner strength." - His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama Tenzin Gyatso. "For all those who suffer from the misery of poverty, oppression, and torture,
Beset by harm, pestilence, or an imbalance of the elements,
May all their hardships and obstacles, outer and inner, be fully pacified,
And may they revel eternally in the glory of every happiness and bliss.
With sincere prayers that all this will come to pass exactly as is expressed in these words." - Ling Rinpoche, New Delhi, India
