FOSS Patches as well as deeper documentation properly collected with attributions here: github.com/pcm720/fc130... Should be flashable with ATA commands, so you can skip the SPI flasher. It may be possible to have DVRP patch the firmware itself as most people don't have ATA interfaces anymore.

Usually these SD adapters have spotty performance and I haven’t tested it myself, dubbing video may raise issues But there is no reason why this kind of solution wouldn’t work so I’m sure it’s the real deal!

One fun part of running real hardware dumps in emulation is having data transfer properly. Seems this machine was only in operation for a year or so before either someone reset it or it was decommissioned. Judging by the shop name and area, it likely came from this arcade that no longer exists.

So here's a new P1 dumping tool for real hardware. Just need a sd2psx and usb drive I call it "Snake Charmer" Reach out if interested in testing!

This bad boy dumps all you need to emulate python 1 as well as for repair ✅ PS2 bios, nvm, mec ✅ Firewire config rom ✅ BBSRAM ✅ IO Board Boot Rom ✅ Plugged in Dallas dongles ✅ Memory Card Dongle ✅ Memory Card Auth id I had to suffer through days of horrible fan noise for this, plz spread the word

Here's a fun relic that's been trapped on the Konami Python 1 till now. Dancing Stage Fusion is the first DDR game for PlayStation 2 hardware, predating SuperNova 1. It was also Euro exclusive so its not very well known. Some fun licensed songs, and cool to see a PS2 era DDR with lyrics still.

DiscoStarslayer@disco.camp · 3mo agoFinally!!! This is the first time any Konami Python 1 arcade title has ever been emulated! This is technically "in game", however PCSX2 hard crashes after this step so still lots of work ahead. Nice to see some progress after entering the FireWire torment nexus
