# **RUMOR: Disney Television Animation Developing New “Gargoyles” Animated Project Hinted By Brent Spiner During ‘Dropping Names with Brent and Jonny’ Podcast**.
The Gargoyles might rise once again?
Since 2020, we’ve seen **Disney Television Animation** expanding it’s programming with several reboots and revivals of their beloved IPs with **_“The Wonderful Word of Mickey Mouse”, “The Proud Family: Louder And Prouder”, “Phineas And Ferb”, “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+”, “Prep & Landing: The Snowball Protocol”, “Sofia The First: Royal Magic” _**and “** _Darkwing Duck Project (Purple Haze)”_**.
However it seems that Goliath and The Manhattan Clan might rise once again as **Brent Spiner** recently hinted at his podcast **'Dropping Names with Brent and Jonny’** that a new “Gargoyles” animated series is in development at Disney Television Animation. If you’re not familiar with Spiner, he voiced the silly trickster Puck in the original series.

> As you saw, the question if this new series is related to the live-action reboot series by **Atomic Monster, Blumhouse Studios** and **Disney Television Studios** was brought up with Brent clarifying it’s a new animated series. As you might know, the “**Gargoyles** ” live-action reboot started development in October 2023 at Disney+ with it’s last update being at **WonderCon 2025** with showrunner **Gary Dauberman** promising to keep it as dark and mature as the original series.

> However it’s been know that **Gary Dauberman** is currently writting the third **Five Night’s At Freddy’s** movie at **Blumhouse** with filming slated to start this Fall. So we can assume that project got scrapped and **Disney Kids & Family** opted to make a new animated series instead as they are the ones which decide what to do with the Gargoyles IP.
“**Gargoyles** ” coming back would not be a surprise as we’ve seen the characters in multiple projects in the 2020s **(“Dynamite Comics”, “Disney Lorcana”, “merchandise”, “books”, cameos on “Chibiverse” etc..)**. ICYMI: **Disney Kids & Family** plans with **Disney Television Animation** has been re-introducing **The Disney Afternoon** shows and cast to a new generation of kids. Projects under this strategy include “** _Darkwing Duck Project (Purple Haze)_** ” by**Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg** and **Point Grey Pictures** and a potential “ _**TaleSpin**_ ” reboot also by **Rogen** and **Goldberg** however the latter got stalled in 2025 with **Rogen** and **Goldberg** hoping to bring back the project in the future.
Additionaly it seems that Disney’s testing the waters with a proper “ _**Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers**_ ” reboot based on them uploading several episodes of the series on the **Disney Kids****Youtube** and it’s multiple cameos on “ _**Chibiverse**_ ” and “** _Chibi Tiny Tales”_**.
