I made DC Regulations easier to read! Why did I bother with this? To read the current regs, you need to find the section and then open up a .doc or .docx file, and it's difficult to jump between sections. It's bothered me when investigating something in code in the past (1/2)

Fine to disagree on tax policy, but not fine to work with GOP to significantly limit DC home rule. If DoorDash thinks DC will accept them intervening in our tax code, they don't deserve our business. I've deleted my DoorDash account and encourage others to do the same.

In a statement, DoorDash tells me that the council passed the "arbitrary" new fee without holding any hearings. "We have always supported home rule for D.C.," says the company. "But will continue to defend D.C.'s small businesses, local economy, and underserved residents."

Making it super expensive to operate streateries is quite possibly one of the dumbest public space decisions we've made as a city recently. Streateries existing are a net public good. They make our neighborhoods livelier and more enjoyable to be in.

Hey, @aparnafordc.bsky.social , the Wonderland streetery is officially gone, which was the last on 11th St. A lively urban corridor, and incredible neighborhood amenity removed… for three parking spaces. Please fight for space for people, not cars.

With OUC's sessions on 311 being in person, I'm doing a survey of challenges with the current app! If you have experience with the DC 311 mobile app, I'd appreciate if you'd fill out the below linked survey. I'll be sharing key takeaways with OUC!

A 7News story says DC Health is pointing to lower rat burrow counts in Adams Morgan and Eastern Market as evidence that its fertility-control pilot is working. DC Health is wrong to say that proves fertility control is working. (1/7)

Listening sessions are an opt-in engagement that many kinds of people will not choose or be able to participate in. A better process would be identifying kinds of users and features, then interviewing identified people who are your types of users to develop your product requirements.

For those interested, OUC will be hosting listening sessions on how folks want to see the 311 app improved. I encourage you to sign up if you have had challenges with 311! www.eventbrite.com/e/dc-311-app...

Decided to test how much faster Snap311 is than the DC311 app. 21 seconds vs 72 seconds for a single request from app open. Thinking about how much time people waste because DC Gov isn’t interested in improving the user experience. Over 100 requests, this is >1 hr wasted

My neighbor built a functioning 311 app in a matter of hours while it took OUC more than 6 weeks to fix their broken app. Throughout this process, OUC has been more interested in protecting themselves than learning from his app.
