There are entire portions of the LGBTQIA+ community that we completely neglect but aren't willing to talk about.
I’m going to say this once: every time I thought I knew something or someone, life has come back and checked me…hard. It then asks me if I even know myself. As I once heard, “know thyself and adorn thyself accordingly.” And that’s what I’ll be doing- adorning myself accordingly.

Done! And holy f*ck did this book open my eyes. If you want to learn more about failed and racist drug policy and a compassionate way to address substance use, read this and you’ll have a whole new perspective on the war on drugs.

He touches on a lot experiences that felt very relatable, especially when he talks about a level of isolation that I think a lot queer folks can relate to. Read it! #RandomBookReview

I think one of the worst things “traditional” recovery spaces do is that they teach people to fear making mistakes. Yes, we’re dealing with (in some situations) life or death but shame and misinformation has killed far more “addicts” than being able to learn from our very human struggles ever has.
