Brexit is the fuck up of all time. Arrived at the airport to be told that, despite my passport being valid till April next year, it *actually* expired 2 weeks ago because Brexit means your passport expires on the 10th anniversary of the issue date of your passport not the expiry date 😭😡🤬

I think my gallbladder got wind that it’s getting removed on Tuesday and has decided to give me one last kicking as a goodbye treat. Ouf.
Just done some recording in my home studio *in this heat* and it took me right back to the old Zombies, Run! sessions which, at times, were a right sweat box.
Guys, I miss living in London but it is too damn hot in your city these days. I fear I’ve reverted to my Northern roots.
I am currently having a lovely time directing Jekyll & Hyde with the Young Company @liveveryplay.bsky.social and if you happen to be in town next week, you should come hang out cos it’s gonna be wild.
At Schiphol airport. It is noticeable that the people getting rejected out of the EES/e-gates at passport control are more likely to be older folks. Is this a dry hands/non-tech native issue? In any case, there is a queue of fuming British Boomers. Or perhaps it’s punishment for Brexit?
You love to see it - Zombies, Run! still making headlines after *fourteen* years
If you want to run your first marathon in your 50s, it helps to be chased by zombies
When Ben Elton didn’t distract from the pain of moving my body, I found the perfect solution – the interactive smartphone game Zombies, Run!

Today we watched Liverpool Anglican Cathedral on fire from our rehearsal room. Then one of the cast was stung by a wasp. It was all terribly dramatic.
Happy World Theatre Day! I’m starting rehearsals for this on Monday and I couldn’t be more excited to work with this brilliant group of young people at one of my favourite theatres.
Happy world book day from my cat and the ruff I made so my 5 year old can cosplay Shakespeare tomorrow. 😂
Glad someone else appreciates our weird little town and its disco bridge. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
I visited Runcorn for the first time this week – and was blown away by its magic | Adrian Chiles
Decades after I first befriended one of the town’s sons, I finally got to see the place – or at least its glorious bridge, writes Adrian Chiles

He prefers it over Minecraft and honestly it’s such a balm to the soul.
Received the Monument Valley trilogy for the Nintendo Switch for Christmas, and my five year old has really taken to it. It’s so gorgeous and wholesome and he’s been so quick to pick it up. It makes my heart sing.
Boxing Day is homemade sausage roll day. Look on my works, ye mighty, and eat sausage rolls.
Today in the northern hemisphere the darkest week of the year is over. (Count: solstice was the 21st. The darkest week is that plus the three days either side.) So that’s something to enjoy. We’ve done the very darkest bit.
Wicked: For Good was all the excellence I was expecting and all the feels. What I hadn’t banked on is laughing the hardest I’ve laughed all year and for that I am immensely grateful. My sister and I were in STITCHES at Fiyero’s burlap face. Absolutely dying. 10/10.

I have had a lovely time playing with actors this past couple weeks: last week running the @newearththeatre.bsky.social Liverpool Theatre Makers Academy and this week workshopping a beautiful and heartbreaking new play with @tommortonsmith.com. It’s been great & I’d like to do more of it soon please
I joined a puppetry playtime workshop this evening and 10/10 would recommend as a balm for the soul. Feeling restored and entirely put back together. I love puppets.
My cat is cute, but also filthy (he will NOT let me give him a bath).
What does this even mean? Yakisoba? Extremely questionable, Pringles.
