Me saying to my 6y old computer (with a few 8y old components), while reading news that RAM and PC parts prices are getting worse in the next few months/years.
3D printing ftw! I don't have a Steam Machine, but if I did I'd be all over this, pretty cool! www.reddit.com/r/steammachi...
Un-skippable splash screens on games are the worst, but most times a requirement to use X or Y tech, ar least make it optionally skippable. “Our logo is so good that people should look at it for 3 seconds”
Props to the devs for spending almost 2 years trying to solve a bug that wasy even their fault. Just imagine that, 2 years! And they had to send Nvidia a PC for that to happen. www.pcgamer.com/game...
pretty cool, I think this is the tech companies should be embracing, but hard for them to profit on it. Need a thing? print it at home! most of friction still is finding models of a thing you need to print, especially for people who don't know how to do the 3D models.
Ah yes the good old restructuring to adapt to the shifting business economics
The era of custom/lightweight game engines is starting again either we like it or not. The average system spec will go down in the next few years. But 4GB VRAM is still plenty for most stuff, PS4 has a total of 8GB (main and video) for everything so this is not a doom scenario.
This recent PlayStation and now Xbox system outage, that was blocking digital games (and even disc ones) from being played just proves that we're not ready for a digital only games world in the console space, there's just too much DRM around it.
Well, it finally happened! After 9 years of Unity dominance, Godot was the most used game engine for GMTK Game Jam 2026 submissions. 🤖 Godot - 47% 🎮 Unity - 34% 🛠️GameMaker - 5% 🚀 Unreal Engine - 3% ✨ Other - 11%
Unfortunately me and a lot of other programmers have been made redundant. A lot of talented people I've had the pleasure of working with over these past 4 years have been affected as well. If anyone's looking for gameplay programmers, designers, audio, etc. please do reach out to us 🙏🖤
Looks like LG monitors started pushing adware software to Windows. Even some older monitors. So if you have one you might want to search if they installed it on your computer.
LG Monitors Fill PCs With Adware, and It's Not Just Recent Displays
You may not even know if 'LG Monitor App Installer' is running on your PC.

released in 1987, the Walkman WM-51 had a very elegant way to store the headphones within the device itself. walkman.land/sony/wm-51
I don't think I had ever seen anyone holding a N64 controller like this to use the Joystick (1st pic), seems very uncomfortable. Or maybe this is a common thing and I'm just out of the loop. I assumed everyone was using like 2nd pic modes.
this is such a cool optical illusion. you can 3D print it www.patreon.com/OOglees/post...
there was a time where you could officially install Linux on PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 3. en.wikipedia.org/wik... en.wikipedia.org/wik...
Worst part of having the neighbors blasting music is not even the noise itself, but having to listed to the Spotify ads, at least pay it!!
Tom Cruise doing a silly/satire/dark humor movie is a nice chance of pace after all of the action ones (not that I disliked them), and immediately reminded me that I hope he also goes "Les Grossman" on this one.
Back in 2010 getting indie game sales reports for Vizati by physical mail. “I wonder how many copies I sold …. oh”. It was a rough indie dev start but it changed my career, had to do a custom engine for mobile version (which sold a bit better) and later used the engine on QoD.
It’s weird but for Switch 1 I was 80% of the time in portable mode, I found the joycons detached uncomfortable so Pro Controller on TV. Switch 2 I find portable mode uncomfortable so 99% time docked, but since joycons are bigger they are more comfortable so that’s what I use.
16GB of SO-DIMM DDR5 RAM, something you can use on a Steam Machine, was around 36 Euros one year ago, in May 2025 (lowest ever). This particular one was at it's peak 219 Euros this March. This alone would account for a big increase on SM price, let alone everything else.
I wonder how popular a "buy the game on a Disc" service on GOG would be? The games are already DRM-free, on checkout one could tick a box and get a physical delivery for games in the cart. Obviously this would be a logistics nightmare to burn on demand, but a nice feature.
They idea of building a DIY mini-pc and throwing SteamOS in there is tempting, but even with mini cases they don't get as close, the most interesting aspect of the Steam Machine is still incredibly tiny size and silent (from what I read about) image src: www.reddit.com/r/ste...
