Heading to Japan tomorrow, so of course I'm prepping my Analogue Pocket for the trip. Any recommended hidden gems I should check out? As tempting as yet another Super Metroid playthrough is, I feel like I should branch out. Everything except RPGs or tactics games and I'll likely be into it

Wasn't totally feeling the opening act before The Prodigy tonight, and then he busted out some Atari Teenage Riot My apologies Nitepunk, I was unfamiliar with your game

This week marks 20 years since starting at Infinity Ward, marking the beginning of my game dev career - a dream I thought was never going to happen If you're wondering, no. I still don't know wtf I'm doing Some days I still wake up thinking, "Man, itd be cool to make video games for a living"

The last year produced some incredible games, but the one I think I'm going to continue to go back to for years is Sektori. If you love shmups or twinstick shooters like Ikaruga or Geometry Wars I can't recommend it enough. The Steam reviews are spot on store.steampowered.com/app/2105620/...

Sektori on Steam

Sektori is an intense, fast paced twin-stick shooter infused with hard hitting techno music. A game where the high-adrenaline gameplay, visuals, and music come together to transport you into another s...

Admittedly you'll have to put up with the occasional groan-worthy dad joke puns from me, but on the positive side we're working on something cool and are looking for more awesome devs to help us! tldr: rad team, independent studio, new IP (we own it!), great benefits, equity/profit sharing for all

First playthrough of Terminator 2D: No Fate completed If this was released to arcades in 1992 it would have made all the money. Highly recommend it if you like this sort of game, just make sure to play on a higher difficulty. Was pretty easy to blaze through on the medium difficulty setting

Also loving Sektori by @gimblll.com! If you enjoy twin stick shooters and have a burning hole in your soul since Geometry Wars you should check it out. I play when no one else is home because the home theater needs to be at 11 for the music. Didnt blink during a 30m run I had last night, no notes A+

Shoutout to @bysameng.com on Skate Story. Played a few hours and its everything I was hoping for. Awesome skating gameplay, rad af graphics, killer soundtrack via Blood Cultures, and just a perfectly bizarre narrative - this is the skating game I've been waiting decades for

Really looking forward to ARC Raiders launch tomorrow. First game I've preordered and been this hyped for in a long while. That server slam test was some of the most fun I've had in PvP in years - no surprise, Embark showed they already know what's up with THE FINALS Anyone else going topside?

When I was 12 I got Myst for Christmas and fell in love (was huge Sierra / Lucas Arts adventure game fan), and this making-of video on the CD was the first time I saw any kind of game development. From then on I knew what I was supposed to do

Check out this amazing remastered (at 4k!) version of "The Making of Myst" mini-doc! Originally included on the Myst CD-ROM in 1993, this version has been carefully recreated by Ted Sase using footage preserved by the VGHF! https://youtu.be/xBtLZDPnYlM

One benefit of having COVID this week is that I've had the time to clean up my email inboxes Gotta keep things nice and tidy for the daily dump of spam to arrive, ya know?

Watching the team go through a show and tell of all their work this morning and I am just in awe that I get to work with such talented and amazing people

Reminded of ATVI blowing up Infinity Ward because the bonuses due to the dev team Cool quote from an ATVI exec email thread months before they fired our studio heads and took away our bonuses, "we are paying way too many people way too much, we need to find a way to put caps on our bonus payouts"

Jason Schreier@jasonschreier.bsky.social · last yr.

Some employees at Unknown Worlds were told they were eligible for bonus payouts ranging from hundreds of thousands of dollars to seven figures if they hit their revenue target. They believed Subnautica 2 was on track for release this year. Now, with the delay to 2026, the target seems unattainable

My wife and I are working through South of Midnight this weekend, really enjoying it so far. Loving the setting, story, music, and characters -- but the character and environment art are the biggest treat Congrats to everyone at Compulsion Games on the release!

Happy 6th birthday to Apex Legends Once in a career project - everything lined up and the team managed to pull off quite the feat Fun fact: basically all of the launch game was made in about 14 months
