i have... weird feelings at how ppl seemingly ascribe hatsune's love towards sakiko as either a symptom of mental illness, or inextricable from it. that implies hatsune cannot genuinely romantically love sakiko if she was Normal and Healthy, which feels like dismissing her feelings as not legitimate

lrp is a great read and tbh does further explain why i like hatsusaki so much. their relationship doesn't involve the typical kind of saving/"i can fix her" narrative; it's two girls done so wrong by the patriarchal world finding solace and comfort in each other, that no one else can understand

Because Sakiko doesn't view mentally ill people as something to be scared of, she views them as a person to love and cherish. She's decided she *wants* and *dreams* of staying with Hatsune even in all of her lying and self hatred and incompetence and inability to understand her feelings

Whenever I think too hard about how mentally unstable Hatsune and Doloris both are, and how Sakiko and Oblivionis calls them kindhearted and gentle, it makes me want to bawl my eyes out. Hatsune and Doloris are very much horror characters, but Sakiko's not scared of them at all... uwehhhhhh 😭

But just. Of course Hatsune knows she would love Sakiko in every universe, but the fact Sakiko acknowledges and embraces (in the most literal sense possible too) this in her writing of Doloris is insane. Hatsune will kiss her goodnight and then she'll write about being loved by her forever 😭🫶

Okay so I'll start with the obvious: Oblivionis is not *literally* saying Doloris is not, or can never be, her knight. Every canon that was written post-anime has had her consistently be very gentle, close and cozy (and even flirtatious!) with Doloris. But let's unpack why she said it!

In the episode, Sakiko says their relationship is nobody's business but their own. Sakiko as a whole is a character who's never let us in on her inner thoughts--she instead shows us with her actions. While we don't know what exactly she was thinking, we don't need to. Her actions say it all :)

This is what real romantic love is, isn't it? I mean, love without care for the other's best interests is just desire, but love without desire is just platonic, not romantic. Hatsune feels both, and quite strongly. That's what makes her so relatable, that her feelings aren't simple.

When Sakiko smiles around Hatsune, it's completely legitimate, and it's earned, because she will never put on an act of being happy around her, just to play into her role of being the perfect happy girl. But even when she doesn't smile for her, it doesn't mean she doesn't like Hatsune

Sakiko is so... ugh. I love how subtle yet loud her feelings for Hatsune are. I love how during a time where she was scared that nobody would ever accept who she's become, she found that Hatsune still loved her, no matter how unsettling or unpure Ave Mujica became.

I really want to write a dedicated writeup discussing Sakiko->Hatsune, but I feel like I've gone over this so much it might be redundant aljdshlds It truly drives me crazy how it seems like there's more material for Hatsune->Sakiko, but in reality so much of what Hatsune does is enabled by Sakiko

My genuine feeling on this is if you want to understand why Hatsune loves Sakiko, watch s2ep11. If you want to understand why Sakiko loves Hatsune, do a deep dive into everything. All of the walls of Ave Mujica are painted with her love for her. It's so obvious that it's easy to overlook

"Why does Hatsune love Sakiko?" one night spent together as kids "Why does Sakiko love Hatsune?" and to explain this we must analyze each and every string of dialogue Sakiko has typed for Ave Mujica's lore. To limit an analysis on this to the anime is to approach a mere 5% of her love for Hatsune,

Something I've always found genius about episode 12 as well is that despite Hatsune's desperation and all the times she pushed to be with Sakiko prior, at absolutely no point in ep12 did she do anything that pressured Sakiko to do the things she did. It was all 100% an active choice to be with her

On a more wholesome note I just like how Sakiko has a line in the show that's literally just her saying "who the hell cares what anyone else says is 'good' for me. I want to stay with you forever Hatsune and you should not feel like you have to hide your feelings"

Sakiko seeing how cruel God is to Hatsune so she becomes her own personal god ouuuuuuuuuuuugh

Feeling emotional over Hatsune's line of "I really did want to help you forget everything" I will never view Hatsune's desire to be with Sakiko as something wholly selfish, because the reality is that throughout the show, she really does so much for the sake of helping her first and foremost 🥲

Something I need discussed every day is how Hatsune really did love Sakiko at her lowest. The opposite is also true and the show made a point of it, but like. idk. No matter how cold Sakiko was to her, she still bought her treats and made sure she went to bed on time 😭

tbh idk how much I've actually voiced this thought in public but I have so, So many feelings on how Hatsune loves Sakiko even at her lowest and how important that honestly is for Sakiko's entire character arc. This girl who is expected to be happy and comforting (even by *Tomori*) but not to Hatsune

understatedly handsome hatsune, in a pathetically endearing kind of way, wearing men's stockings in her doloris stage outfit. the "puppy boyfriend" to sumimi's fangirls, but becomes even more handsome for sakiko, when she's acting as doloris or hatsune, exemplified when her voice drops lower 🤌🤌🤌

Starting with... Amoris uses 俺, which is rather masculine in tone, but this is something women use online to maintain their anonymity. Amoris is quite feminine and not intended to be androgynous in the same way Doloris is, but there are attributes you could call androgynous in a vacuum.
