Great to chair the Let's Talk Politics panel at Féile an Phobail again this year with such a great crowd. We had a great panel:Chris Donnelly, @gavreilly.com & @saraita101.bsky.social going through the big topics in politics, border polls, the performance of the Executive & the Irish government.

Think this is the first LT poll since 2021 that has the UUP ahead of the DUP. With the exception of the UUP, pretty bad all around for the Executive parties. All three would come back in smaller numbers. SDLP on the rise along with the Greens.

At just over 2 years in post, Hilary Benn comes ahead of Peter Mandelson and John Reid in tenure for Labour NIO Secs. Behind Mowlam, Woodward, Rees, Mason, and Hain (only just behind him). The next NI Secretary will be the 8th person to hold the role in the past decade.

I've been doing that Irish thing of being too embarrassed to say hello, would you like my book? It's The Ghost Limb: Alternative Protestants and the Spirit of 1798. A tribe of 20 modern day northern dissenters go walking around the sites of 1798, asking what this politics could mean for today.
