One thing that's important to look at when an incumbent is challenged in a primary is whether they do the work of an office holder in district. Sometimes incumbents win because they're present and effective congresspeople and their constituents like them, national moods aside.

One of the most destructive things I've seen on cable news, sure, I agree. But abusers act like this *all* the time. Seen a hundred like it, seen a hundred worse, any lawyer with experience in family law or suing bad people will know what they're looking at 30 seconds in.
🤯 Rep. Max Miller's interview with Jake Tapper was one of the most self-destructive things I've ever witnessed on cable news. Here's the whole thing:
I gotta admit, when Moreno was getting pilloried for not speaking out against Miller for hurting his daughter, I didnt think he'd course correct at all, much less course correct to actually going scorched earth.
People who can annihilate other people don't really talk like this, because they've been annihilated enough to know to speak softly. The list of baddest men on the planet is really small. If you're not on it, its all relative, and talk like this is a show of weakness.
He will never understand that being "the fat guy from Superbad" is infinitely better than being "the martial arts chud nobody likes"
...I'm *extremely* confident they could beat a boys high school team. They'd have murked mine, for example.
Clay Travis Offers to Pay WNBA Champions $10 Million If They Can Beat a Boys’ High School Basketball Team
It's wild to me that the people who are constantly sold as the creme of the profession apparently can't even spell "leverage".
This is one deeply reported, beautifully written (or edited) story, and you should find time this Sunday morning to read every word of it. 1/2 Gift link www.nytimes.com/2026/08/02/u...
One of the myths I think people need to let go of is this idea thay getting frivolously messed with by the cops and the law is a ticket to a payday. The people railroaded by the pool arent getting shit if the judge in the instant matter doesn't award fees, and thats not to them.
Thisnis one of the weakest copyright suits I've seen in years, can't believe I hadn't heard of it. Atty fee grant completely appropriate her, as is every iota of the judge's disdain, which the order is *dripping* with.
You may recall the case where Lynne Freeman sued Tracy Wolff for writing a YA set in Alaska where the male lead was hot and broody, just like in Freeman's book. This litigation went on for three years before a judge finally read both books and said there was zero infringement.
Psyched for the John Donne cinematic universe. It's gonna be something.
Studio execs are going to want to adapt more poems for the big screen now
I really liked the Avatar: TLA movie. Had all the same strengths, and admittedly the same weaknesses, as the original series, but was incresibly nostalgic and at times, damn cool.
I could get tbis dude over a 150k a year back in about 5 minutes, yeah.
Income - Taxes - Expenditures - Savings = 0 someone who is good at the economy please help me budget this. my family is dying
"Get woke, go broke" I mean in the meantime, the latest movie tagged with "woke" is sold out for 2 weeks and my options to see it are staying up until 3 am, so I'd say its probably gonna do pretty well.
...yeah I was too worried. This is worse than the Biden debate, he sounds like an utter imbecile.
Internal polling shows the GOP at serious risk of losing the Senate even if the Dems don't knock off Collins. Trump's rumored imminent speech in GA is going to be an attempt to knock off those already seated. If he declares war, it needs to be received by party apparatus as such.

"But why wouldn't she report..." Y'all, if you're saying that in 2026, for the love of God, learn a thing or two. Here's one example of how that often works for people.

He was one of the guys of all time.
Say what you will about Lindsay Graham.
Here's a free tip to predict fights accurately, folks. Old and rusty fighters typically don't do very well. Stop falling for this. It was embarrassing enough with Mike Tyson.
I have an uncommon name, so when I do get mistaken for the others, like when I accidentally receive mail, it's for pretty intimate stuff. I've developed some tells to see if something is mine before I learn something that isn't mine. Today it was "screed from the ex-wife on scented stationary".
He was going to lose, and some people need to wrap their heads around it. Backing a scandal plagued Redemption horse who'd never redeemed himself was a bad idea in the beginning. He couldn't beat Collins and a lot of us knew it. The *actual* working class is harder to win over than through cosplay.
I just…
And the polling from *last week* is showing that Collins is, very predictably, reeling reelection in. Gotta move on and gotta do whatever needs to happen fast.
This is particularly risible in phrasing, sure, but I need a lot of folks to realize how much like this they've been sounding to a whole lot of people.
Why? If a rapist can be president, why cant this asshole be a senator?
What I'm saying is there were a group of people who were right about this guy and a group of people who were wrong, and I'm frankly pretty proud we kept speaking up when the wrong people were *desperate* for us to shut up.
Everybody with an ounce of life experience knew this was coming. If you didn't, acknowledge what you just learned about your own blindspots. Pieces of shit don't stop.being pieces of ahir, and they are pieces of shit in most to all corners of their lives. More is coming. Push him out now.
He's right avout the consequences and the benefits. But many law firms also how no idea what makes a good partner, and get guided by some hilariously foolish criteria. I had people tell 26 year old me to my face I didn't belong in this business, I'd destroyed my career before it began, etc.
I see that we're discussing the messed-up law firm associate timelines again. Our firm doesn't participate, but I've said many times before the current system is bad. One note to throw in though. Maybe it's obvious. But the upside of finding the right associate/future partner is *really* high.
I'm a law partner, I was a damn good ballplayer, my poetry isn't bad, and I have been on *so* many dates. Too many. I'd make a quip about how what he brings to the table doesn't seem so great, but there will always be starfuckers like Nuzzi, so, wth.
RFK Jr: Kids with autism will never hold a job. They'll never play baseball. They'll never write a poem. They'll never go out on a date.
Take it from a guy who knows how fighters make money and sell fights: Giving the UFC guy notoriety for the shit he talked on the mic is going to make him rich. Roll your eyes and move on. The more you invest yourself in him, even if its in his inevitable downfall, the more he wins in the end.
I've fought outside in 100 degree heat. The bigger guys are gonna be in some real difficulty if their bouts don't end with the quickness. There are some tricks that help, but they don't help long.

My favorite part about sports comebacks is watching them become self-sustaining. It's not just the Knicks heating up, though they are, and are moving the ball very well. Spurs are in active collapse right now. This is when a great coach earns the adjective.
It wasn't just that her oval office mistake was bad optics that made people sour on her, contrary to the histrionics from Resistlib types. It's that it was clearly a really good snapshot of who she was in a way her PR couldn't bleach.
