On August 1, 2015, the first Texas Furry Siesta was being held at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Addison, the home of first years of Furry Fiesta. When Fiesta moved to a larger venue, there was a leftover hotel credit that was used to fund a furmeet which grew into fur con, currently the 24th largest.
