The McConnell Rule: If it's the same year as an election for the replacement of a senator who's not running for reelection, and the senate is held by the same party as that senator, you (have to/don't have to) announce the death of the senator.

Facts: (1) Taco Bell lettuce has been confirmed as source of diarrhea plaguing the nation. (2) Trump lives on fast food, and in fact his nickname is "Taco". (3) Last night we had yet another instance of explosive diarrhea coming from Trump's mouth in public. Coincidence? I think not.

This post is for Colorado voters who haven't yet turned in your Democratic primary ballot. I recommend State Senator Jessie Danielson for Secretary of State. I'm not even in her district, but has helped me immensely, and she's a huge advocate for people with disabilities. 1/5

That he commits impeachable offenses nearly daily is shocking but not surprising. We knew who he was when he was elected the 2nd time. What's truly unnerving is each week that goes by without impeachment. Thoughts and prayers to the victims, survivors, and families of this crime spree.

Just like a toddler, he's pushing every boundary, testing every limit. When he gets away with something, he pushes farther. It's the nature of his 2-year-old psyche. Who's to blame? The parents. In this case, Congress, Courts, media, etc.

There is a fatal flaw in this decision. The Alabama primary is May 19. The deadline to file to be a candidate in the primary was January 23. The Supreme Court just broke Alabama elections. How can there be no way to dispute this illegal, unconstitutional, partisan ruling?

Free market competition requires two things: competition and protection against exploitation of externalities. These oligarchs are doing everything in their power (i.e., using their wealth to buy power) to eliminate both.

Deadline to file as a candidate for Representative: AL: Jan 23. FL: Jun 12. LA: Feb 13. TN: Mar 10. VA: May 25. That's enough to invalidate any new redistricting, at least in AL, LA, and TN.

Exactly! No matter how much you want to, it's way too late to change voting districts. In many cases, it's past the deadline to register as a candidate in the primaries (while in some cases voting has already begun). Duh, this is exactly why the Purcell Principle exists.

Doesn't mater what he builds or how far along he gets with the "ballroom". President Buttigieg is gonna tear it down and rebuild the East Wing. Oh, and replant the Rose Garden, plus put all the fake gold bling on Craigslist for free.

Doesn't partisan gerrymandering mean that at least some of the new districts are closer than before? Doesn't this mean that the whole thing could backfire against the Rs if Dems get a wave election? Which anger about partisan gerrymander could cause.

Changing election rules close to an election is a blatant violation of the SCOTUS Purcell Principle. Redistricting after the deadline to declare your candidacy for a primary election seems to be 100% clear on that principle.
