St Clements used to be a psychiatric hospital. I created this commemorative plinth and placed it in the cemetery off the site where some patients were buried, their graves unmarked. People were touched enough by it to leave flowers, stones, leaves and sticks to show their love too.

A grey rectangular plinth with the text: to the 1000s of psychiatric patients who lived and died her, unmarked and unloved, their ghosts stand here. LEAVE LOVE HERE. Surrounding the plinth are autumnal leaves, on top of the plinth are flowers, a feather, sticks and twigs, and stones.

who remembers the long gone patients in the old psychiatric hospital? On September 5th at 14:00, there will be a walk around St. Clement’s, with former staff, oral histories with former patients and a performance and art by me to commemorate those lives. www.whitechapelgallery.org/events/remem...
