Given the financial restrictions #SWFC are working under, landing Ali Al‑Hamadi from Ipswich on loan is about as good as they could have hoped for to bolster the attack before the window shuts. He will come in with a big point to prove after a frustrating 2025/26 campaign. 🦉⚽️

Sporting director Simon Wilson on Reece James' arrival: “Often these players are not the ones who get the limelight, but they play an essential role within the group. RJ has a deep feeling for the club from his past here and he is a perfect fit for what we need right now.” #SWFC 🦉⚽

🚨 Done deal: #SWFC have re-signed Reece James. The defender has been training with Wednesday for a number of weeks, having left Rotherham at the end of last season. He has signed a one-year deal. James, a member of Wednesday's promotion-winning squad in 2023, is their 15th summer signing. 🦉⚽️

🔵⚪️ How are #htafc fans feeling this morning? A point at MK Dons is a decent result. Many pundits have tipped them to push for promotion this season and Town played them off the park in the first half. But Town have to be more ruthless when they’re on top and put teams away.

A few thoughts on Tyler Onyango’s setback: - Brutal blow for him personally. No one wants to start their #SWFC career like this. - The three‑year deal isn’t on him. - Wednesday's transfer restrictions likely forced their hand in taking a punt. - They must now bring in another CM. 🦉⚽️

🔵⚪️ Huge psychologically for #htafc to keep a clean sheet vs AFC Wimbledon with a new‑look backline. I don’t think Town will struggle for goals this season - the real key is tightening up at the other end. They shipped 64 last year. Their defensive level will decide everything.

Callum Slattery has shades of Kieran Lee and George Byers for me. Covers so much ground and is such a technically smart operator. Drove #SWFC on in that second half at Leyton Orient. Only two matches in to his Wednesday career, but he looks a cut above League One. 🦉⚽️

FT: Leyton Orient 1 #SWFC 2. It's the first time Wednesday have won back-to-back matches since March 2025. Much-improved second half display. Showed greater attacking intent and created plenty of chances. Wasteful finishing. A hard-earned three points. 🦉⚽️

Barry's low right foot curler is superbly kept out by Baxter, who has been busy in the second half. The resulting corner is cleared away. We have played two minutes of the time added on. #SWFC 🦉⚽️

Akhamrich is exactly the type of loan signing #SWFC could do with making before the end of the window. He's so skilful and direct. More speed and dynamism is required at the top end of the pitch. 52 minutes on the clock and it remains 1-1. 🦉⚽️

You fear for #SWFC every time Leyton Orient go forward. They have got no outlet up top. The full-backs are getting pushed back. They are losing the midfield battle. There's more pace and energy to Orient's attacking play. Wednesday look disjointed. It has been a real struggle.🦉⚽️

Watched a replay of the equaliser three times. It gets worse with every viewing. Shocking marking and organisation at the back and Olowu nipped in to turn the ball home after Kabia's neat flick on. #SWFC 🦉⚽️
