USAID provided funding and vaccine support to the Congo for mpox, including over $55M and 50000 JYNNEOS vaccine doses in 2024. Disrupted by the 2025 foreign aid freeze and the dismantling of USAID. This left many vaccine doses stuck in warehouses and paused critical surveillance and vaccination.
