We love donuts. We love democracy. And we think young people deserve the brightest future. So we launched Donuts+Democracy to empower, educate, energize young voters. https://www.donuts-democracy.org/ Donate: https://www.donuts-democracy.org/donate

We’re fired up and ready to go alongside @votersoftomorrow, @justinjpearson, and every single youth organizer we met at VOT’s national summit. Young people are showing up now more than ever, and they’re ready to make change happen today.

Just finished packing up our Hot People Vote t-shirts and stickers for Frankie, one of our amazing Donut Wagon Leaders in New Hampshire, who is co-hosting a voter registration event with @RocktheVote on August 15th.

One more reason to be an @oliviarodrigo fan ⚡️💕 Proceeds from the pop star's upcoming concert tour sales will directly support @plannedparenthood (a direct response to the organization’s loss of federal funding in 2025).

On paper: We have 100 days until the 2026 Election Day for the midterms. In reality: We have 54 days until early voting begins in some states and 70 days to get registered in many states (October 5th is the first cut off for states like Texas). ⬇️

Mexico is demanding criminal investigations into the deaths of Mexican immigrants, including Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, as a result of ICE officers. We can also take action. Immigration enforcement is set by people we elect, and the midterms are in november. 🧵

Last week, we were at the the HS Dems conference conducting a workshop on a new playbook for building youth political power 💪 The students were amazing – so smart, motivating, and inspiring – with ton of ideas (hard to believe they’re only in high school!). 🧵

Europe relegates bad teams to a lower league. Congress works like that too, but only if we get registered to vote and show up at the polls 👀 This fall 435 US house reps, 33 US senators, and many state officials will be on the ballot. We decide who stays and who goes. ⬇️

Two more men are dead after separate ICE shootings in Houston and Maine. Neither Lorenzo Salgado Araujo (in Houston), nor Joan Sebastian Guerrero were the people ICE agents were reportedly trying to arrest, yet they were killed.

A former Olympian, David Hearn, is facing a felony charge for touching the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. The canoeist states that he was examining peeling sealant from recent renovations and let go when he was told. Now, he is being charged with felony property destruction.

✊ the most powerful thing you can do is exist on the voter roll. not marching, not posting, not doomscrolling about it. just being on the list. voter roll = voter registration list (list of registered voters, and the list your name needs to be on to be eligible to vote in the upcoming election)

While masked white supremacists were out in DC over the weekend spreading hate, we were in cities all across America spreading love (& donuts!) 🍩 Love for our neighbors, love for our country and the diversity that makes it beautiful and vibrant. Love for all. 👇

Trump is spending your national park entry fees on his own fireworks show. The cost amounted to $1.6 million, more than 5x the usual cost. Meanwhile, 900+ park projects went unfunded, including a leaking roof at Yellowstone. 👇
